We’ve been to Raw Bar Bondi twice now The first time was lovely, the food was great and the staff were super friendly. On our second visit, the service was just as lovely, but the food didn’t quite hold up. We ordered the spicy tuna roll and a couple of the pieces had barely any fish in them. large pieces of lettuce were taking up most of the filling (I pulled it out in the photo to show how little tuna there was). It just felt a bit underwhelming compared to what we’d had before. It’s still a nice spot with great staff, but the inconsistency was a bit disappointing this time.
Top! The staff can’t be more friendly ! They are such a vibe. Super helpful and nice ! Really thanks to the team. We were trying to see other places in Bondi but when a place is so perfect as this one it’s hard to check other options. My fav thing in the menu… I won’t say it ! Because they might run out if everyone orders it haha but you can go and try many things for their menu. It’s all delicious ! My instagram @raquelkaizen . One thing is that the mini soup almost have no topics but still delicious.
I’ve dined here a few times over the last 5yrs. It’s walk in only with about a 30min wait on a weekend night. The food is tasty but also pricey for what it is. I do like the eggplant for a veg option. Most of the other sushi dishes are similar to what you can get elsewhere. It is known more as a ‘place to be seen’ and for people watching. The outdoor tables can be awkward slopping downhill.
I have no idea why this place doesn’t have higher reviews !! It’s sooooo good. Food and vibes are imppecible! I want to go back for more cooked meaty dishes, but we were in a sushi / fish mood. Our waiter Charlie was FAB and soooo helpful with recommendations of what to order and portion size! I will be back x
Raw bar - consistent. Expensive. Located right! I live very close to raw bar so it’s a firm fav but the “attitude” of the spot just rubs us up the wrong way. I guess situated where they are sells the goods pretty much. Don’t get me wrong, the food is great but it’s super expensive and the staff are not that friendly until you start up a conversation. Always have too much to eat. Warning the hand rolls are HUGE. Local and great quality. We keep going back.
