Just perfectπ Wagu Beef Donburi! Fresh Edamame, The Karaage Curry was perfect for a cold rainy evening. 10/10 Friendly service, delicious food and cosy vibes.
I had lunch at this place due to interesting menu pictured on Google Map review. However, the menu currently is more limited and they no longer have curry rice, tonkatsu or sushi / kaisen-don. I chose to have buta-don which is similar to the homey comforting dish of beef gyu-don but with slices of pork bellies. It came with an egg and usual condiments like ginger slices and spring onions. It is good, authentic home-style Japanese staple, but nothing special. I think it is reasonable value for your money at $17. I visited this place again after first visit a year ago and this time they updated their menu nicely. They have more donburi, ramen, udon, kare raisu on the menu. This time I ordered interesting bokake-don which was mentioned as specialty of Japan's Kansai region. It is rice with onsen egg and stir-fried wagyu beef meat and tendon slices π. The portion is generous and taste nice for the price of $16 / plate. The place has limited / small space, maybe can accommodate up to 10 seats including al-fresco dining. Customer services are reasonable for casual dining shop, at least food comes fast enough. You can pay with all credit cards and pay additional surcharge of 1.5%.
Not really amazing at first but then you notice the very reasonable price and above average quality. Definitely better than the sushi joints nearby that sell stale rolls that smell of cheap and bowls of gross off cuts of salmon. If their price doesn't go up then this is about as good as you can expect for a "cheapish" Japanese lunch.
Top notch quality Japanese cuisine, there's gyoza, don and curries. Tucked away in the corner located opposite to black or white espresso. Come here for comfort home made style (no frills but excellent!) food. I had the Hamburg curry don, super tasty and loved the pickles on the side. Next time I want to try the sashimi don. Great casual dining, indoor (at the bar) and outdoor seating available, or why not take away one of their grab n go options and eat by the fountain (watch out for the birds) in the plaza?
Lovely small Japanese restaurant with counter seating. Feels like I am in Tokyo. The Nagoya style miso pork cutlet donburi was excellent. Will definitely come back again.
