Run down Sushi ? This place used to be good, but the owner must have changed. I have ordered sushi plus soba set. The fish was fresh and the presentation was good, but the rice was soggy, and the Soba was very salty with swollen noodles in small portions. Strangely, the waitress and manager both looked very worn out and not so engaged with customers- maybe from overworking or looking for new jobs ? The cooks in the kitchen also looked not so experienced. Anyway this will be my visit โฆ
The prices are very reasonable, which is a definite plus. I ordered the Japanese-style curry ramen and a California roll. The curry was decent, though not particularly memorable. The sushi was average โ nothing special, but acceptable for the price. Service was quick, though it felt a bit rushed and impersonal, with little attention to detail and no greeting upon arrival. A fair spot for a quick meal, but not one that stands out.
Delicious and great value for money, got to try many different dishes.
Came here regularly for nearly 5 years. Used to be good, but recently both food quality and service has noticeably gotten worse. Rice was soggy not Japanese style. Staff looked tired and didn't want to be there, even on a quiet weekday night, likely because they were too busy fulfilling delivery orders. Very likely a change in ownership. Overall very disappointed.
๐ฅน Sakae is the cutest lil Japanese restaurant tucked away in Eastwood that gives you great value for your money with delicious food and generous portion sizes!! ๐คฉ ๐ฑ I got the Eel Deluxe Bento Box! I chose to get the Salmon Sashimi as my side as well as a mini hot Udon. ๐ The Eel pretty much melts in your mouth and was full of flavour. ๐ The Karaage chicken was so tender and super crispy. ๐ The Udon noodles were perfectly chewy and the soup was satisfying to finish off the meal with too. ๐ฃ Follow for more food! ๐ @lilbeaneats
