A lovely little Japanese spot just opposite the Lord Nelson — a real hidden gem. The food felt truly authentic: fresh, healthy, and full of flavour, with every dish beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, efficient, and gave spot-on recommendations that made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re after quality Japanese done right.
We came here on Valentine’s Day…the owners were soo welcoming and helpful. The food came out exceptionally delicious and the overall experience was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend!
Lovely food and service - The restaurant is owned by a married couple, creating a very friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, and the place is decorated mainly with items originally inported from Japan. All dishes we tried from summer rolls through sushi rolls and curry to the sesame ice cream were fresh and delicious.
Every dish here was bursting with fresh and unique flavors.The chefs truly put their best into every creation. I thoroughly enjoyed the soft shell crab roll called “spider roll.” The king fish carpaccio was particularly mouthwatering. I’ll definitely be returning again because of the pleasant staff and atmosphere of the place.
Service wasn't too bad little rushed but not too bad. No Chardonnay by the glass so we ordered a bottle. Edamame beans needed more flavour or a bit more salt maybe. Prawn tempura with the dipping sauce was yummy. I didn't enjoy the sushi rolls especially the part where the salmon was extra chewy. The prawn tempura rolls were tasteful as for the mains 'king fish teriyaki' and 'chicken teryaki' were distasteful. I did like steamed rice though...
