I’ve been here multiple times and they are consistently amazing in all aspects, service, food and atmosphere. Our most recent visit, last week, was spectacular. The food was unmatched, every single dish was amazing. Special shout out to Ellie for the best service! We will be back soon!

From the moment we arrived, the host gave us such a warm and beautiful welcome which set the tone for the whole night. The atmosphere was amazing and everything ran so smoothly. The drinks were incredible really well made, creative, and came out super quickly. The bartenders clearly know what they’re doing and you can tell a lot of care goes into every drink. A special shoutout to Tiffany, who truly made our experience stand out. Her service was amazing she was so friendly, attentive, and gave us fantastic drink suggestions that we absolutely loved. She made us feel so looked after and really elevated the whole night.

Back for the third time and have no plans to stop. Tanuki just works. The food is consistently great — the tacos alone are reason enough — and the outside seating is genuinely cute, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Some of the servers are an absolute vibe. The kind of people who make a dinner feel like a night. One request, and we say this with love: we’re tired of the Don Julio 1942 era please put Clase Azul on the list. Definitely on the pricier side and adds up - we generally spend $350-750 plus tip for two people just because there’s a lot to order!

Emma’s service at Tanuki in Double Bay was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. Her attention to detail was outstanding—she anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, and everything flowed seamlessly throughout the night. She was just so lovely! Emma struck the perfect balance between being warm and friendly while remaining professional and efficient. She knew the menu inside and out, offered great recommendations, and made the whole dining experience feel elevated and effortless. What really stood out was her positive energy—it’s clear she genuinely loves what she does, and it made a huge difference to our experience. Emma is a huge asset to the team at Tanuki, and we’ll definitely be back because of her.

Great selection of appetisers , snacks, a food . High quality ingredients used . Really loved the Japanese themed wine and cocktail menu . Raissa our waitress for the day really made the experience enjoyable. Would recommend and come again
