Came here for dinner and honestly one of the best Japanese meals I’ve had in Sydney. We ordered six dishes and every single one was incredible. The Hokkaido Soup Curry is an absolute must order - pumpkin, eggplant, okra and a soft egg in a broth that is unlike anything I’ve had before. So so good. The Wagyu yakitori was gone in seconds, the Quail Egg yakitori is tiny but dangerously delicious, and the Chicken Heart yakitori sounds intimidating but is so smoky and savoury - do not skip it. The Ebi Croquette came with a sweet and sour sauce that I could honestly eat with everything. And then the Unagi Don. Grilled eel with a sweet soy glaze over rice that has absorbed all of it. Absolutely incredible. For the price in Eastwood this place is unreal value. Already planning my next visit and 100% ordering that soup curry again. Highly recommend!!

Hidden gem in Eastwood! 🇯🇵 Walked in and instantly felt transported back to Japan! the sake wall alone is worth seeing, and the whole space has that authentic izakaya vibe. Food-wise, the Hiyashi Cold Chawanmushi is a must-try — silky, refreshing, packed with flavour. The assorted chicken yakitori is another must-order, perfectly grilled and so juicy. Salmon sashimi was fresh and clean. Highlight of the meal was the Unagi Don, generous portion, unagi was so fresh and grilled to perfection. Honestly one of the best I’ve had. Will definitely be back! such an underrated spot! 🔥

Pretty good Japanese food in Eastwood. We went during their half price promo, the chicken katsu curry was only $12 during this promo ! They have a different promo for different days of the week. The decor and atmosphere is very japanese and authentic. Overall I am pleased with the food they served and the price point ! Would recommend the rice based dishes like katsu curry's but not the kingfish sashimi (last photo)

One of the things I really enjoy about Japanese restaurants here is the variety they offer. Unlike many places in Japan that specialise in just one thing, this felt more like a place where you can explore the menu and share a bit of everything — which suited our table perfectly. There were six of us, so we ordered both the 15-piece and 9-piece assorted sashimi. I didn’t get to try the salmon (a couple of people at the table only eat salmon, so it disappeared quickly), but everything else was beautifully fresh. The tuna in particular really stood out — simple, clean, and so good. Given our numbers, we also shared a few hot dishes: mixed tempura, prawn tempura, and fried oysters. Since we split the vegetables, I can only properly comment on the eggplant — and I have to say, as someone who doesn’t usually get excited about eggplant, it was far more flavoursome than I expected. I easily could have eaten more. A friend was especially impressed with the okra, and the pumpkin looked great too — I would have gone back for seconds if someone hadn’t beaten me to it! 🤣 The prawns were exactly what you hope for: light, crisp, and not oily, and the oysters were delicious. To round things out, we shared a few rice dishes so we could try a broader range of the menu: the Unagi Don, Gyudon with sukiyaki sauce (which looks much better in real life than the menu photo suggests), and Chicken Katsu curry Don. I loved the unagi and how it was presented, the gyudon was rich and full of flavour, and the chicken katsu curry was very familiar - tasted just as it does in Japan. Like many izakayas in Japan, this is a small venue, which adds to its charm. By the time we left, most of the tables were full, which says a lot. The only downside for me — and this is very much a personal preference — is ordering via QR code. I realised later in the evening that we hadn’t ordered miso soup, and I suspect if we’d had table service, it might have been suggested. That said, it’s pretty standard these days and not a dealbreaker. Overall, this is a place I’d happily recommend. It’s ideal for sharing with friends, trying a good cross-section of the menu, and enjoying a relaxed, satisfying Japanese meal. I’d definitely go back. PS — apologies for the lack of photos (and the quality of the ones I do have). The food looked so good that we started eating straight away and I completely forgot … it was difficult to get a quick snap before diving right in.

Food was really good. Came for the Thursday offer for half price off chicken katsu curry don. Udon was really great. Just one thing, beer wasn’t cold which was a shame. Nonetheless, will visit again.
