Beyond ecstatic that this place exists. Came here for a nice dinner with a friend and not only was the service phenomenal, but we couldn’t flaw the food. Big portions, the freshest sushi and rice, and everything was so delicious. Some combos I’ve never even had before. Can’t wait to come back and try more items on the menu - highly recommend!!!! (Forgot to take picture of chicken Karaage but that was delish!!!)
Amazing Japanese food. The sushi was fresh and delicious! I really enjoyed the chicken karaage; it was perfectly crispy, and the gyoza was also crunchy and full of flavour. Thank you Mihwa for the great customer service! The menu offers a great variety of dishes, including bento boxes, udon, and sushi. The sashimi was very fresh and the presentaion was beautiful!I loved eating the kingfish, salmon, tuna, oyster, and scallop. The tempura was delicious as it was crispy. I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes. I highly recommend visiting YUI, but make sure to book in advance as it does get busy.

Deluxe sushi & sashimi - fresh Tempura Mix - You could taste the carrots and at fist alone it tastes plain with a slight carrot taste but perfect crunch and with the sauce paired together it makes the dish impeccable flavours blah Teriyaki Chicken Main - Tastes amazing my fav. Didn’t think of teriyaki sauce pairing so beautifully with the salmon! Karage Chicken Main - sauce + light crisp of the chicken is very tasty im starting to feel like all he mains are tasty leaves a good aftertaste Chicken teriyaki - sauce is not too overwhelming allowing you to taste the chicken also very fresh Peas - somehow rlly tasty the peas had flavour inside out Miso soup - nice. Could have had a stronger flavour but otherwise timeless and great for washing down the heaviness of the dish Dumpling thing - was crisped beautifully smelled great and was good Overall the restaurant itself was nice the vibe was chill but maybe warmer lighting and a more traditional Japanese feeling (e.g. paintings, traditional drinks, etc.) would have been nice to see :) Although they were busy they presented the food excellently quantity was perfect. Staff worked extremely well even under pressure but finding the QR code for online orders took a bit to find. Presentation of the dishes were beautiful (did l already say that?) Anyways l think that for a restaurant that’s newly opened they have immense potential and are doing very well!
Have you visited the new Japanese restaurant at Putney? Yui Japanese is located next door to the popular Charles Street Kitchen and is a great place for date night, a quick lunch or a warm bowl of very special ramen! We had the lunch bento (bargain at under $25) and were happy to see the endangered Diet Coke in a can in the menu. Would recommend and be back again.
