Tonight, I gathered with friends and stepped into this beautifully atmospheric Japanese restaurant — and we were impressed from the very first dish. The thick-cut sashimi platter was vibrant and fresh. The salmon was rich and buttery, the tuna sweet and silky — every bite reflected the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The baked abalone was tender and flavorful, enhanced perfectly with a light yuzu sauce. The specialty sushi rolls were topped with rich sauces and generous ingredients, delivering both indulgence and delightful surprises in every mouthful. The grilled lamb rack was beautifully seared on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, full of aroma. The pan-fried gyoza were golden and crispy, even more delicious dipped in soy sauce. To finish, the salt-grilled shishamo was crisp on the outside and soft within, bursting with roe and a wonderful taste of the sea. Paired with a chilled glass of champagne and enjoyed under soft lighting, every dish reflected care, quality, and attention to detail. This was not just a dinner — it was a feast for both the palate and the eyes. If you're looking for a comfortable yet refined Japanese dining spot, this place is definitely worth a visit.

First time coming here after the Macq store closed. It was a nice quiet dinner especially indoors compared to the garden. Food was exceptional as always with portions as big as before. The sushi rolls are definitely the highlight especially the Rainbow and Salmon lover. We tried the new Wagyu roll but I personally didn't enjoy it as much. Having it as a nigiri would be better. The udon sashima set was another amazing dish that complemented each other really well. If you want to come here I recommend taking the metro to Victoria's Cross as parking can be very inconvenient and you will most likely have to pay.

A lovely Japanese restaurant in North Sydney with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection and everything we ordered tasted great. The lamb cutlet was tender and flavorful, and both the ramen and abalone were clean and well executed. Dessert was a perfect way to finish the meal. Would happily come back again.

I had quick lunch at this popular Japanese restaurant and ordered their tonkatsu kare-raisu with spicy option (additional $1 for Japanese rayu chilli oil on top of curry roux). The dish was prepared quite quickly and presented nicely. The dish had good balanced portion between rice, curry roux and tonkatsu pieces. The hero on the plate was the curry roux, though the tonkatsu was not bad, just regular. On next visit, I ordered the Yurica sushi set 🍣 and they're quite good value for the price. You got a few nigiri sushi with variety of fishes and preparation style (e.g. raw, fried, blow-torched). I like the set and it is reasonably good value. Customer services from staff member was a bit patchy / messy, maybe due to busy lunch time service. However, they still do better than most other cafe / restaurant in the area. The dining space is quite spacious, clean and bright. You can see the open kitchen operation from your dining spots. The menu is quite extensive, but the prices are bit pricier compared to similar offerings in the area. You can pay with credit cards with additional surcharge of 1.6% for V/MC cards and 1.9% for Amex cards.

Absolutely loved the Volcano Sushi—it was fresh, flavorful, and freshly made. The staff and owners Yurika and Eddie were also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!
