First time trying this humble hole in the wall restaurant in Lidcombe - Sydney best Koreatown in my opinion. The owner is also front of house and serving staff but he is very efficient and friendly. The smells of fresh food cooking in the kitchen will hit you as soon as you entered this place. The menu is quite extensive and because we read so many reviews on Google recommended the beef rib soup we have to get one of it. Surely it didn’t disappoint as the portion is generous and the broth flavours were deep and full of umami. The meat is soft and falls off the bone but still has a great texture. The spicy pork stir fry is also delicious too! I assume when you order a stir fry dish with rice you will get a complimentary soybean soup on the side as that’s what we’ve got. Amazing experience and will definitely come back to try other dishes soon.
My wife and I love returning to Basak - definitely a gem in a sea of other great Korean places in Lidcombe. The owner and staff are always so friendly and attentive, and the food is great. We usually opt for the honey combo chicken or one of the nangmyeons, honestly perfect taste for both. Can't go wrong!!
We ordered the marinated wagyu beef, kimchi noodles with pork belly and bibimbap and they were all so delicious!! The owner was so nice and gave us free chicken. Side dishes were soo good as well, especially the potato salad!! Would recommend 10/10 all round
Came here upon recommendation from a good mate, was not disappointed. Highlight for me was the beef rib soup; excellent flavour and the dipping sauce coming with some good quality wasabi was a lethal combination. Fried chicken given to us for free at the end was so lovely; Bibimbap was extremely tasty and as you can see, all portion sizes were great Sauce on the cabbage banchan was decadent
Our experience and the food were really good in flavor, texture and value. The servings are generous. There is a bit of waiting time as there are limited seats but everything else is efficient. The staff are nice to us too. We will come back soon.
