Overall nice food, nice restaurant. 1- Wish there is more instruction when to reduce heat, when to open lid, when to put noodles and so on. (If staff is not going to do them) 2- Wish staff was more attentive rather than we have to ask for refill, plates and rice- it was not full house. *kimchi was very good! *Order extra veggies! *Dont drive there - you have to have some makgoli or soju with food!
Lunch yesterday - staff attentive, service with a smile. Food with fresh ingredients, sauces were mild spice, everything was yum and off course we took a doggybag ... Actually got a vege steam bun which we enjoyed next time will try the kimchi Cheers Shabu Lidcombe!!!
The staff was very accomodating and helped us prepare the fried rice at the end. Although more a bit costly, the food was definitely very filling. The lines were long and the restaurant was very busy. Definitely recommend going for lunch during weekdays to avoid the long wait time. Really appreciate the servers that attended to us and helped prepare the food!!
The place is new when I visited, just about 2 months since opening. Most people will come here for the $59 set meal which includes a soup base of choice, a plate of beef, a bowl of noodles and rice (for making fried rice at the end of the meal). The soup was very good, tons of flavour, had a good amount mushrooms and veg inside. Meat was tender. Noodles were made fresh inhouse and were chewy. The fried rice was the highlight for me at the end. The staff will cook and let it burn slightly which creates this intense eggy fried rice aroma. Staff and manager were super nice and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant. Do prepare to queue for about 15-20mins due to its popularity.
Excellent service, we had about 5 refills of the kimchi because it was so delicious. Vegetables tasted very fragrant and healthy, broth was yummy, not too salty and good flavour (we had the spicy mushroom). Beef was tender. My only 2 takeaways: 1. Kalguksu noodles didn’t have that characteristic chew that keeps you coming back for more 2. The bokkeumbap at the end was disappointing, the rice was fully hydrated (maybe should have been 1-day old?) which meant it was quite soggy even after the worker spent quite a bit of time trying to crisp it up, and there was too much oil for some reason… which made it taste quite oily. All in all, great restaurant but maybe a bit overpriced for the quality.
