Really amazing food. I came here for my birthday lunch and it was amazing. The service was spot on, the host showing us new flavors that made our mouths water. It’s was amazing pricing for the food quality and amount. If you want a nice lunch or dinner, I recommend trying here for great platters that fills up everyone, or just a meal or two that entices ur taste buds. 10/10

Hanok Korean BBQ at Macarthur Square is a solid go-to when you're after a feed that’s a bit more interactive than your standard sit-down meal. It has a real buzz to it, especially on Friday nights or weekends, making it a great spot to hit up with a few mates before or after a movie. The setup is straightforward: you’ve got the charcoal grill right in the middle of the table, and you just get stuck into cooking your own meats exactly how you like them. The vibe is pretty laid-back, so there’s no need to dress up. It’s the kind of place where things can get a bit smoky and loud, but that’s all part of the fun. You can grab a variety of plates to share, like the marinated pork or the wagyu, and since it’s located right in the main dining area of the square, it’s super easy to find. The unlimited side dishes are a winner too, as you can keep topping up on your favourites while the meat is sizzling away. The waitresses we had were quite young and very obviously new and didn't know certain things or couldn't answer some questions but that comes with the territory also bird poo seemed to be around the interiors and exteriors in some parts of the restaurant that need to be attended too. But for the most part was a surprisingly good experience!

We came here for dinner on Saturday night. It was very busy. We are so glad we made a booking. I would recommend this place. Friendly and attentive customer service. The food was on point. We ordered the Wagyu Tester (with soft shell crab salad). The side of rice that was ordered was a little bit on the stale side. Food came out promptly. We would visit again!

I was really excited to have K-BBQ, but the experience ended up being one of the worst I’ve had from start to finish. First of all, the customer service was extremely disappointing. How do you hire staff in the hospitality industry who don’t understand basic manners or customer service? No smile, no greeting, no communication… just walking around with attitude and a grumpy expression. Is this really how your staff are trained to treat customers? The server was literally tossing food onto the table as if she didn’t want us there at all. Before focusing on serving food, maybe teach your staff how proper hospitality works. I’ve been to many Korean restaurants before, and the service has always been amazing, so this experience honestly shocked me. What stood out even more was that the kitchen staff were smiling more than the server, the very people who are supposed to be interacting with customers. I genuinely would not recommend going somewhere that lacks basic hospitality. The whole experience felt less like dining out and more like walking into someone’s place where your presence wasn’t wanted. Really disappointing.

Honestly, this place is one of the worst options for anyone wanting to experience Korean BBQ. 🙂 From the moment we entered until the moment we left, the entire experience kept getting worse. The service was extremely disappointing. The female server was incredibly rude… no smile, no welcoming attitude, and looked annoyed the whole time. If you work in hospitality, basic manners and customer service should be the bare minimum. We were not even served water, and throughout the entire visit it was genuinely difficult to get staff attention whenever we needed assistance because they were barely around. The food itself was okay, but the way it was served made the experience even worse. Food was literally being tossed onto the table without a single word, which honestly felt disrespectful. The grill was badly burnt, and nobody bothered checking or changing it until we had to actively get staff attention and ask for it ourselves. The tables around us were also left dirty for a long time and weren’t cleaned even while customers were still dining. The only time the server smiled the entire night was when we were leaving and paying for the bill. I was genuinely surprised that she could smile .. 🤨People don’t only come for food but the overall experience matters too. If you’re running a business in hospitality, train your staff properly on how to welcome and treat customers. Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately not a place I’d recommend.
