We visited Jingogae Korean Restaurant after seeing so many great reviews and were genuinely excited to try it. The restaurant seems to be run by an elderly couple, and we really appreciated the feeling of supporting a small local family business and enjoying homemade Korean food. We ordered the kimchi hot stone pot for $20 and the potato noodles with vegetables for $10. Unfortunately, we were also charged extra for something that wasn’t listed on the menu. We think it might have been for rice, but it wasn’t explained to us, and the price didn’t match what was shown. It left us a bit confused since we always try to be understanding and patient with small family-run places. The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. We have eaten Korean food many times before, and sadly this just wasn’t to our taste. It was disappointing because we genuinely wanted to enjoy the experience and support the owners, but the dishes didn’t quite land for us. We still appreciate the warm atmosphere and the effort behind a family-run restaurant, even though this visit didn’t turn out as we had hoped.

Such a quaint spot, if I had grandparents who were still alive I think this is what it would be like to visit them. Would suggest sitting close to the kitchen so the lady doesn’t have to carry the dishes too far as it seems quite difficult for her to walk. Or you can go collect your order, and make sure to return dishes to the counter after eating! The lady will ask you to come up to the counter to order and pay before eating. I suggest to bring cash, so you can easily leave a tip if this is within your means. Told her to keep the change - she tried to give it back at first but finally accepted it and was very grateful. The grandma has the loveliest smile!! I pass this place almost every week but never thought to go inside until recently after watching a YouTube short about the elderly couple who own it. The restaurant is full of character from all of the unique Korean artwork and decorations scattered throughout, and it’s run by this lovely elderly Korean couple. The service was pretty fast considering their mobility (or lack thereof), they’ve clearly mastered efficiency after being in business all these years. I’ve definitely waited longer at fully staffed restaurants before. I think all of the main dishes come with rice and beautiful homemade kimchi! No complaints at all, will definitely be back

This place will remain close to our heart. First visit there & so many moment worth watching them making food. Well priced not expensive at all and ambience feels like home. Opens for lunch / dinner, we went on Saturday and they open 6-8pm I believe. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10

This place is so special; the food is cooked and prepared by a very hard working elderly couple. It tastes truly home made!! I had the bibimbap and my friend had the vegetarian omelette. The restaurant feels like a time relic. Please go up to the counter to collect your food even if the lovely lady tries to bring the food over to you. Will definitely be going back again very soon!!
