Very popular. One of our top takeaway spots in West Ryde for authentic Korean cuisine. Love the kimchi dumplings, kimchi eggplant and the mini pancakes – see photos. The team is friendly, super kind and hardworking to ensure you can enjoy the best, freshest, quality food. Made sure we got there very early this morning to avoid missing out.

Clean modern store for Korean banchan. Variety is huge and varies daily with fresh cooked foods hot and cold. Great selection of many staples of pickled and preserved foods. Large selection of frozen ready made meals.

Extremely rude owner and terrible service. I am writing this review because of the unacceptable customer service I experienced here. Yesterday, I purchased some items and paid by card. After I left the shop and walked a short distance, the owner chased after me, shouting that the payment was rejected. When I returned to the shop, the owner treated me like a criminal, speaking in a very angry and aggressive manner. However, when we tried the exact same card again, the transaction went through without any issues. It was completely a mistake on their end. What upset me the most was the owner's attitude. There was no apology at all. When I pointed out that it wasn't my fault, they just said "I don't care." Do not go here if you don't want to be treated with disrespect for a mistake they made.

West Ryde isn’t my usual stomping ground so I took a stroll and stumbled upon Soonhi Banchan This nicely laid out store sells Korean side dishes running from big tubs of radish kimchi ($20) to takeaway containers full of spicy fish cake ($8.50). Homemade pork dumplings ($12/10) puffed up and turned golden brown beautifully in a pan at home, but probably should have been refrigerated in store. Sweet and spicy fried chicken ($4) is a fun car snack for the drive home, as were caramelised hunks of candied sweet potato ($7) joined together by fine ribbons of toffee. Big trays of mixed jeon ($20) included pork in sesame leaf, long green chillies stuffed with pork mince, and fish cakes. Pickled cucumber and seasoned seaweed were both fresher and tastier from here than I’ve had them in other places. Covering our table with a diverse and vegetable-heavy lunch spread, with sides that last in the fridge for many days cost around seventy bucks. Looking forward to returning, when I come back to the suburb to try the standout suburban Japanese neighbour, Moeru Sushi.
