If you're looking for authentic Malaysian hawker food, this is the place! It truly feels like eating at a hometown hawker stall in Malaysia, right here in Campsie, NSW. All the staff were very friendly from the moment we walked in, and the lady boss made us feel like family with her warm hospitality. We ordered the Char Kway Teow (CKT), Wat Tan Hor, salted fish fried rice, pork soup, and finished our meal with a handmade iced coffee and Teh Tarik. Everything was delicious, but I highly recommend the salted fish fried rice and the handmade iced coffee. The prices are also very reasonable. The food is freshly cooked, so it does take a little time to be served. It's definitely worth the wait so just be patient. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We recently tried the takeaway char kuay teow from Malaysian Hometown Hawker and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We requested extra pork lard and extra spicy, and they absolutely delivered. The chef added a generous amount of fresh chilli, and the waitstaff even included an extra container of chilli sauce for us. The attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our request was greatly appreciated. The service was also excellent. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and very accommodative throughout the whole experience, which made the visit even more enjoyable. When we got home and tried the food, the first thing we noticed was how well-balanced the dish was. Unlike many other places, it was not overly oily. The pork lard was chunky, crispy, and full of flavour, while the prawns were large and very generous in portion. The real highlight, though, was the chilli sauce. It tasted fresh, tangy, and had a strong, authentic shrimp paste flavour that elevated the whole dish. You can tell care was put into making it properly instead of using a generic sauce. Overall, this was one of the better char kuay teow experiences we’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back to try more of their signature dishes.

It was my first time in this restaurant and I was pretty excited going through the menu. The options were amazing and I was literally going dizzy trying to make a choice. However when I reached home to enjoy my lunch, it was nothing but sheer disappointment. I order TA Roti Cannai with Beef Rendang and Nasi Lemak special with chilli chicken. I was overcharged and when I asked about it, I was told by the server that there was in fact price changes which they have blatantly decided not to change or overlook on the displayed menu at the counter. Nonetheless, I waved it off and patiently waited for my order. All the staff seemed to be busy with what seemed to be a large order. They were busy packing and I thought to myself well they must be good to have such a large order. 20 minutes I was still waiting and I began to feel impatient. I had missed couple of my bus timings and I had to leave. The server who took my order finally emerges from the back with my order (she must have felt the pressure and went to the kitchen since I did ask her how much longer it was going to take after 15mins of waiting). And so the roti was basically frozen paratha that you can basically get anywhere. Nothing like the Roti Canai I was dreaming of having. No fluff just very very oily. And instead of the beef rendang I was charged extra for, I got chicken curry which I would say was a little better than the Nasi Lemak chilli chicken. Chilli chicken was just fried with literally no salt and had some chilli paste thing slathered all over it. Sambal on the rice was a bit weird like it was going bad. All in all my experience was bad and very disappointing. I’m still wondering how they managed to get that large order or maybe it is their first time too?

The food was delicious and I felt like I was eating real authentic Malaysian food. And the staff were so sweet and welcoming to me. I loved the chicken with the rice it was such a good food combination. And then I had this spicy prawn rice noodle, it was so spicy but well cooked. And a beef which was peppery and hot but delicious.
