Had the beef laksa and char kuay teow. The char kuay meow tasted amazing. It was rather oily but that's normal for the dish. Some places tend to burn it but this was cooked very nicely. I do wish the soup in the laksa was thicker and had a bit more spice, but maybe this is just a personal bias. The beef in the laksa was plenty and also very tender. Note: this place only accepts cash.
The food was amazing here! An honourable mentioned to the Crispy Fried Chicken. It was very juicy and the light crispy skin. Perfect. Probs the best I ever had. Didn't realised it was cash only but the food is so worth it.
Simon Chef is a true hidden gem in Blacktown for anyone who loves authentic Malaysian food. Every dish I’ve tried here has been full of flavor and cooked with care — the Char Kway Teow has that perfect wok taste, and the seafood laksa is rich, spicy, and absolutely satisfying. One of my personal favorites is the crispy chicken with nasi goreng — the chicken is always golden and crunchy, and the rice is full of flavor. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time you visit. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, and everything feels fresh and homemade. Just a heads-up — it’s cash only, but totally worth it. If you’re in the area or passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Simon Chef. You won’t be disappointed!
I was at Blacktown area and quick looking for Asian types of food and found this hidden gem!💎 Food was excellent, service was great. They gave us a loyalty card, which you can redeem a free (I assume meal, but didn’t get to ask) after purchasing 10 meals. A free serve of a cup of Chinese tea is plus! Love the environment, and what’s more important than a sincere cooking food? Feel like homey!
