We had such a great time visiting Chechos! The service was so fast we almost didn’t need a starter (but don’t skip it they’re amazing!). The atmosphere was very vibey and would be a great night out on the town or for a party. A bit loud for a romantic date though;) We had the pork belly bites and beef and pork tacos, all to die for. Very succulent and so flavourful. The jus with the tacos was my favourite part!
Food was really yummy however we were missing an item that we had ordered and we had finished all of our meals before the final item came out. Thankfully, we didn’t have to pay for that last item. When I made the booking, I didn’t have the option to be inside or outside so to my surprise we had a seat outside. We were not offered blankets, but I could see the other table had blankets. There wasn’t even heaters outside and to be sitting on a metal seat with not even a seat cushion was a bit uncomfortable. We ordered the 2.3L cocktail jug and it literally just tasted like juice. Of course I didn’t expect it to be extremely strong but with three of us having a 2.3L jug we didn’t even leave with a slight little buzz. Understaffed so was hard to get the waitresses attention but all in all the food was really yummy.
We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner at Checho’s, enjoying their set menu. The ambience was lively and vibrant, though the music was a bit too loud, giving a nightclub vibe that made conversation challenging at times. The food was fantastic! The Wagyu Scotch Fillet and the Kingfish Aguachile were the standout dishes of the evening. Both desserts were absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were also top-notch. The service was friendly and attentive, but it was clear the staff were under a lot of pressure. Some of our meals arrived incomplete, and tables seated after us were served earlier. That said, the team was quick to resolve any issues, which we appreciated. Overall, despite some minor hiccups, it was a great experience. We’re looking forward to returning to try their à la carte menu!
Chechos Penrith a Mexican inspired restaurant located in the heart of Penrith just off High Street, offering an impressive range of Mexican and higher end menu items such as oysters, Wagyu, Assorted chicken skewers, tacos, corn ribs etc, Quirky cocktail from handbag was unique tasty and good value for money. Food was a bit of a mix bag, beef brisket taco was pleasantly tasty, Chicken taco was a big letdown could barely pick it up a small amount of chicken, stale wrap and overloaded with sauce and coleslaw, Oysters were a little chewy and old. Pork was tasty paired with the sauces and avocado guacamole. However, was expecting a bit more of a crunch. Service was a little bit of a hit miss with the time I visited staff seemed a lil flustered However attentive, Food came out promptly and altogether wasn’t asked if I had entrees to come first them mains. Fairly priced Great location. On site amenities were clean. On street parking and close by car parks. Both indoor and outdoor dining. Not a bad spot for casual dining experience .
Went here at golden hour and the spot by the window is absolutely llvely. You need to order the Mango Caliente! It is the best cocktail.
