An authentic Mexican find! The service needs a special mention as you are welcomed & well looked after from the moment you walk in. Our waitress, the manager was exceptional. Attentive & unintrusive. The food was so tasty, wholesome & fresh. Standouts were the taquitos, duck carnitas, guac & potatoes. Margaritas & cocktails are all so good & exotic. Great atmosphere & full even on a weeknight, so booking are recommended.
If you want real, authentic Mexican cuisine, Maiz is unmatched. It is easily the best Mexican spot in Sydney. Their menu is incredibly unique, offering regional delicacies that other restaurants don't touch. Everything we ordered was exceptional, and ending the night with their mostachón dessert was a total highlight. Highly, highly recommended!
Amazing food and decor. Don't skip the desserts. We tried several things I had never eaten before. The cervache with cactus 🌵 is very tasty. Staff are really nice. Mexican beer 🍺 goes down well. Paradise for celiacs, everything is gluten free.
Maíz has a special place in my Mexican heart, food is 10/10 wether is lunch/ brunch or dinner menu. Everything is so well thought and planned. Ingredients are so fresh and you can taste the Mexican imported chiles. The cocktails are to die for! I mean Joaco the Mexican chef and co owner has done a magnificent job. You can’t miss the machetes, the mains ( which may change per season and their paletas that are wow). Definitivamente a place that you can’t missed if you are looking for delicious Mexican food in Sydney. Also the new venue is so nice :))) congratulations!
Why did I not visit sooner!! I’m disappointed that I did not come here sooner! The food is incredible, the price is very reasonable, the service is excellent and my oh my the drinks. It all wraps up to being a-maiz-ing…..sorry I had to go there! I’ll say no more, visit and let Maiz leave you as we were, wanting more. Currently working out when we go back.
