5/7/26 - 3 stars A sleek and clean Persian restaurant in Auburn. Service is decent and decor is nice. Perhaps I'm just not well versed in Persian food, but, the food did not amaze me. The flavour profiles were ok. The kebabs were solid but definitely not the best I've had. Value for money is not that bad as most dishes aren't very expensive, but, they are 50% rice which ended up being redundant. I expected some sort of cheese, walnut and mint appetizer but maybe that's not a normal thing.

We ordered from Darband today to support the family after seeing them on Tik Tok. We called ahead and ordered take away: 2 Koobideh (lamb mince kebab) with rice, mast-o-musir (yoghurt with shallots) and torshi (pickles). We got double kebabs and all this food for only $49 which in this economy is VALUE FOR MONEY! Phone order taking could be improved! FYI The food is very good, impeccably good - we’ve been looking for a high standard, no BS Persian food place and haven’t been completely sold anywhere until we had Darband today! Even if you don’t know what good Persian food is and you walk in without any preconceived notions or expectations - Darband in Auburn is going to elevate your experience and show you what the best is! The koobideh is really fresh - it’s not oily and more importantly it’s not fatty (many places load their koobideh/adana with fat to cut costs) but Darband offers the juiciest freshest cleanest and well seasoned kebab in sydney! Hands down! I really value a well made rice, rice is not easy to get right - but we could tell Darband clean the rice very well and steam it to absolute perfection! The saffron rice was not overpowering - they gave us two knobs of butter which is so appreciated - we drove back to the inner west and couldn’t wait to eat our take aways! The pickles were acidic and sour and fresh, with a delightful addition of green tomatoes! Haven’t had those in years! The mast-o-musir was delicious paired with fresh bread and herbs! The atmosphere was retro and classic with a real style that takes delicate measured hands to create - well done! All in all we will definitely be coming back!

The new Darband location is stunning. It has nice soft colours which create a nice and cosy atmosphere. The service here is very polite and attentive. The food is delicious. I got 'barg' and the lamb backstrap is beautifully seasoned and cooked. Along with the white fluffy rice. Thank you!

Everything experienced at Darband was quality. The atmosphere they’ve created and the way the food is served is impeccable. No detail has been missed. So incredibly impressed and looking forward to return. Will dream about the Persian ice cream until then. Thank you Darband 💙

I had Persian food for the very first time, and it was absolutely delicious! This brand-new Darband restaurant in Auburn is a must-try. I love everything about this place—friendly staff, amazing food, excellent service, and a very clean environment. Nass is incredible. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, she made me feel welcome and even taught me how to eat Persian food properly. Her hospitality was unforgettable and truly stands out at a time when many restaurants lack genuine care and respect for their guests. Darband clearly takes great pride in what they do, and it really shows. I’ve dined at many Vietnamese, Thai, and other restaurants, but Darband offers something special—you really have to try it to believe it. I’ve unfortunately experienced poor dining etiquette elsewhere, but at Darband, guests are treated with respect and the atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant. I plan to try every meal on their menu. If I ever organize a gathering or recommend a restaurant to friends, Darband will be my first choice without hesitation.
