I organised a group of 50 people for a farewell dinner event at Persian Basement, on Sat 13/6! We are from different Zumba gym dance communities, and good to have found Persian Basement as the venue for our special dine+dance event. Leila, the manager, was friendly, warm and very easy to work with during my planning and very accomodating to my specific requests for my group. We had a great fabulous time. Venue met our overall expectations - a large dance floor for dancing to our playlist selections, great food selections buffet style and belly dance performance entertainment! The DJ was also warm and friendly and easy to work with! Fabulous professional belly dancing entertainment with interactive audience participation! My group loved it! Highly recommend this venue for booking your next event group parties, if you are looking for an environment with great vibes, spacious dance floor, flexibility with playlist requests, good food and belly dancing entertainment! We will visit again ourselves!!

We ordered takeaway last night and were told it would be approximately an hour before the food was ready for collection. When my husband arrived, he then had to wait another 30 minutes. This isn’t the first time we’ve been disappointed by the quality of the food, but last night was truly shocking. The chicken was completely tasteless, and the lamb was absolutely disgusting. My husband looked at it and said, “There’s no way I’m even going to try that.” See the attached photo and you’ll understand why. The lamb was burnt and covered in congealed white pieces of what looked like fat or grease. I tried one piece and immediately regretted it. It had a bitter, unpleasant taste. We both felt sick after eating the meal, despite leaving the lamb untouched after that. We are extremely disappointed. You’re taking people’s hard-earned money, especially during a cost-of-living crisis, and serving meals that are simply inedible. It’s unacceptable. The only positive thing I can say about the restaurant is the female staff. They are always extremely polite and professional.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Persian Basement in Lane Cove, and everything was perfect. They had a live DJ, a delicious buffet dinner, and a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the night even more enjoyable. We had an amazing experience and definitely recommend this place!

We finally made it to Persian Basement for my Grandmothers 95th birthday and wow—what an incredible experience! The buffet setup is pure magic for anyone who loves Persian cuisine. The variety was seriously impressive: perfectly seasoned ghormeh sabzi with that deep herb flavor, rich and tender fesenjan with just the right balance of pomegranate and walnut, juicy kabobs (both chicken and lamb were melt-in-your-mouth), several types of polo, fresh salads, mast-o-khiar, borani, and warm, freshly baked nan. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and clearly made with love—no skimping on saffron, spices, or quality ingredients. The real showstopper though? The dessert section. I’ve never seen such an incredible spread at a Persian buffet. The sholeh zard was delicious. We went back for thirds on the desserts alone and still wanted more! Service was warm and attentive, the place was spotless, and the atmosphere felt genuinely welcoming—like being invited to a big Persian family gathering. Portions are generous, the price is more than fair for the quality and variety, and we left stuffed and happy. If you’re craving real-deal Persian food with an unbeatable buffet and desserts that will ruin you for all other sweets, this place is a must-visit. We’re already planning our next trip back. Highly, highly recommend!
