Best pizza in Sydney. I’ve been coming here many times and tried many pizzas. Toppings are delicious and the dough is absolutely perfect—aromatic, soft, and crispy in all the right ways.
A cold wet night in Balmain made so much better by the fantastic pizza at Tipo “00”. Very casual dining with a great team looking after you. Pizza oven right there for you to watch all the magic unfold. Stretching the dough to cooked pizza in less than three minutes!! The smell, the heat and the perfectly cooked pizza with the best crust I’ve had since I visited Naples. Would definitely come back and will recommend to anyone wanting a seriously good pizza, either eat in takeaway. Best pizza I’ve had in Balmain by far.
Our favorite wood-fired pizza in Sydney! We always come back here. It has a great casual atmosphere that works perfectly for both date nights and family dinners with babies/kids. Service is always fast, and the staff are incredibly friendly.

It provides a wonderful foundation for their thoughtfully chosen toppings. You can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. From the vibrant tomatoes in their sauce to the creamy mozzarella and flavourful cured meats, everything is top-notch. They offer a great variety of pizzas, from classic margheritas done right to more innovative and exciting combinations. What I appreciate most is the balance of flavours. Each pizza is carefully constructed so that no single ingredient overpowers the others. The result is a harmonious and delicious experience. The same warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly service extend to their pizza offerings. It's a fantastic spot to enjoy a truly authentic and delicious pizza in a lovely setting. If you're in Balmain and craving pizza, Tipo 00 should definitely be on your list!
The real Gigi. This guy knows pizza. He's a maestro of dough. He's worked with the best because he is the best. The pizza at Tipo 00 is Top 01. The calabrese tastes like a Sunday BBQ at Nonna's. Sausage, roasted capsicum, potato and caramelised onion working in perfect harmony. The Balmain with bugs laid on a fish stock reduction is another high level flavour ensemble. This pizza is absolute perfection. I'd tell you it's the best in Sydney, but then I'd have to book in advance.
