Located on the busiest street of The Rocks, it’s easy to see why Zia Pina is so busy. Featuring the old-world charm of rustic bricks and timber, it’s bound to take you back to a time before any Italians ever step foot in Sydney! Sadly, that’s where the complete pleasantries end. The pizza was wonderful, although the pasta left a lot to be desired. What appeared to be ten pieces of ravioli with the thinnest amount of sauce on the top. With a clientele of mostly cashed-up tourists, it’s easy to get a few extra bucks out of everyone by charging a 10% surcharge on weekends and public holidays, even on a Saturday. On top of that, there’s another surcharge once you get to the counter as a bank fee! Almost $10 worth of fees for the privilege of paying. It would’ve been worth it if the food was all amazing, but sadly, only the pizza was fantastic.
Very nice atmosphere, close to Circular Quay station and the water front. Food was good, fresh prawns, cheese pizza was also nice. But pasta was cold when served.
I ordered simple Margarita Pizza and tasted like street pizza. I ordered pasta too and it was so bad. The ravioli tasted like frozen pasta. It has Italian vibes but far away from Italian taste
Great casual and authentic pizza place. Had a pepperoni with just the right amount of spice and a few glasses of house red …. Still deciding about tiramisu for dessert. Pro tip: when there’s a lovely older Italian gent to greet you at the door, the house red is probably pretty good … and it was! The pizza was fresh, hot and perfect, the red was very drinkable and the tiramisu (yes, I decided whilst I was writing this) was heaven. Walk in with confidence. I’ll be back.
Food was great, however the staff wasn't amazing. I mean they weren't rude or anything, just the vibe I guess. Nice small place, affordable on a busy street.
