We had an excellent experience here! Family of four with two little ones under 7, stayed in July. We stayed at the boutique hotel, it was directly over some pubs and near others but we didnt have any problem with noise. The pubs were celebrating the world cup so lots of action. A bit of street noise but not bad and kids slept through it. The food/room service was good and popular with the kids. Lots of great food options early and late. Fantastic location for walking or catching a cab. Building is old but well done, character in a good way. The old wood is well cared for. Rooms were clean and kids loved the little bay window seat. The only "down-side" is to get to the hotel you have to go across a delivery bay and go through the bar/restaurant but staff were very helpful getting us to the entrance. There is no lift but stairs are short and kids had fun climbing and seeing the photos of musicians in the hall. Overall great time and will definitely come again! Thanks Coogee Bay Hotel!
Food and drinks were great. It was really cold last night and I asked for the heating to be turned on and was told they were not allowed to. Tried to change me full price for the happy hour beer.
This review is for the restaurant - great food and great service. The process of ordering at the desk and picking up via buzzer is very seamless. The service was friendly and the food was great, with gluten free options available. Very lively atmosphere on a weekend and a great location if you're at Coogee!
Incredibly overpriced. They advertise $6 schooners that are actually $9.50 during happy hour. Security is genuinely rude, awful and are often quite physical especially around the later hours. The sitting is decent and the view is acceptable, but despite the poor experience, unfortunately this is the only bar in the suburb so it is difficult to compare. While the Coogee bay hotel has a really bad history, especially with the legal case around the member of staff who shat in someone’s icecream, due to the limited options of bars in the area, it is one of the only options if you don’t want to grab a few drinks by the bottle shop nearby and head up the hill. Some days it’s a decent option you’ll have to fall back on.
We had a great experience at Coffee Bay Hotel. The food was really good, and the portion sizes were generous, which was a nice bonus. Definitely good value for money. A solid spot if you’re after a satisfying meal — we left full and happy.
