Had a drink at the Hotel but then decided to get food there too. Expected the classic pubfood but what I got instead blew my mind. The place is famous for its chilli chicken. I looked at the menu for a while but then decided to get the Cheese Chilli BBQ chicken. As I got up to the counter to order this guy was very pleased that I chose that particular item as he then proceeded to show me all of his awards he’s won for it. Served with an elite bowl of rice with dried algae and bits of chicken the chilli chicken blew my mind. It was quite spicy and so the chef gave me more of his fabulous rice. With no charge. He was funny and engaged with his customers. He looked like he loves what he is doing and it shows; changes the atmosphere. I definitely recommend it to anyone who gets a chance to go to Sydney. The trip from downtown is definitely worth for what you get!

I was on a luxury cruise for 14 days and tried all the cocktails on their menus, and found nothing could be comparable with the cocktails I have been drinking from the bar at Eastwood Hotel. The first thing I came back was to tip the bartender at the hotel, with my favourite lychee pina colada 🍹❤️ And you have to try the fried chicken in the restaurant too, my favourite is chilli flavour or sweet chilli. The crispy skin, the juicy meat, and the ultimate charcoal aroma...so good, simply the best KFC on Rowe street!

We just sat down and some manager asked us if we’re eating and we said we’re about to order and told us that we have to order now before we sit down. Ruined our experience. We just found it very rude that instead of letting us sit down first and look at the menu, he just pointed us to go in line and just order before sitting down. The other staff were nice enough to apologize on his behalf after we told them what happened when we asked if that’s normal.

Feb 7, afternoon. Entered the bar and ordered a glass of Prosecco, which was poured from an already opened bottle. It had some bubbles, but it was clearly not comparable to a freshly opened bottle. My friend and I both tasted it to confirm. I returned the barely touched glass and asked the staff member (female, Asian, wearing glasses) for a new glass poured from a newly opened bottle. She refused, insisted the drink was “acceptable,” and stated refunds weren’t possible — despite the fact that I never asked for a refund, only a new glass. She repeatedly said the bottle was only opened yesterday, which again, I never asked about. Plus since when does “opened yesterday” equal fresh with full bubbles??? To avoid wasting more time on an unproductive exchange that was already ruining my mood, I ended up buying an entirely new bottle — on top of having already paid for the original glass. TO THE OWNER: is this how your staff are trained to handle customers? Serious questions about consistency and fairness in how customers are treated.

Visited tonight (Saturday 11 April) and left pretty deflated. Two female bar staff were rude, passive aggressive and eye rolling all night for absolutely no reason. Security had zero issues with us. This is purely on the bar staff. Kitchen has always been great. But basic human decency from the people serving you drinks shouldn’t be a big ask. After a decade of loyalty through the good times and bad, tonight was the last straw.
