I maybe bias because this pub is my local but, what a mega pub, every single member of staff is friendly, welcoming and always so accommodating, the manager is the utmost friendliest person and that transpires through all the staff, basically one big family. The food is excellent, we actually eat here too much😂, the pie is the best for me, tastes like a proper Yorkshire pie (home). The atmosphere throughout the pub is always so clean and well presented. Lucky to call it my local.

Good local pub, clean, light and bright, well-run, with a space to suit most needs (front sports bar; middle section (bistro) with tables and chairs, and rear covered outdoor area that’s great on a fine day). Staff attentive and friendly on our visit. Run by the Gallagher group that also owns Jackson on George and the Hunters Hill Hotel. Standard food options one would expect from a pub these days with fare ranging from schnitties/burgers through to grilled barramundi and pot pies. Prices tend to be at the premium end, particularly the steaks, and food presentation is good, with quick turnaround time between ordering and receiving. If you don’t like your hot food on the salty side best to ask the kitchen to hold the salt as it can be pretty salty here (case in point being the salty Guinness pot pie which is served with salted chips, whereas a mild mash would be a better match). The lamb ragout tagliatelle is tasty but the strands of pasta had not been properly separated during boiling, so quite a few strands were partially ‘glued’ together - a kitchen rookie error. The bistro zone can get pretty riotous during the nippers-in-tow family lunch peak on weekends so if you’re noise sensitive, pack the earplugs. Tap beer range is ok for the rugba loig -watching white bread crowd (the ‘unpasteurised’ Carlton Draft is heavily promoted and they have Guinness and a few lagers, but not much in the way of craft beers such as a NEIPA. Tried the Carlton for a lark but as expected it was woeful for a craft beer snob like myself. :-) All in all a pleasant arvo venue to take the family or a mate to if you happen to be in the area. 3/5.

Popped in for lunch with the specific task of getting a schnitzel. Pints are cold and plentiful, if not particularly well priced. Schnitzel came quickly and had a decent crunch. Clearly a butterflied breast so you get a good amount of meat for your money. Sauce is extra and comes in a pot which, as Zoolander says, must be a pot for ants - could be bigger. Overall it's a good venue with a decent schnitzel, worth popping in for lunchtime libations.

The actual atmosphere and service was good (although a bit too dark to read the menu). It was the food that was disappointing. Not that it was bad, just really average, especially for the low-key ridiculous price paid. Winter chicken salad: Actual salad was yum (roasted broccoli and brussel sprouts w/ pomegranate, almonds and lemon tahini dressing), but chicken was very dry and flavour less. Eggplant melanaze: Fine, but no basil flavour (despite it being listed) and a very small portion - not really enough to satiate. Fish and chips: No flavour and borderline soggy batter. Steak sandwich and Halloumi burger: no sauce, no flavour - felt like eating mouthfuls of bread. Halloumi burger: no sauce, no flavour.
