Our last trip to Camden found the Royal closed for renovations. This trip, not only was the Royal open, they were having $10 renovation special lunches. For a limited time I believe. What's better than $10 steak and chips with pepper sauce and very decent vegetarian pasta? Not much! My partner enjoyed the pasta, I enjoyed a very tender steak with the right amount of char for that great flavour plus a very nice pepper sauce. Very good chips too. Nice decor, atmosphere and lovely staff. Definitely coming back.
I went to have dinner on Friday night food was great and staffs are friendly and was not to noisy we get there early, after all my experience was great.
The food was fantastic for the specials night and it was a generous serve. My only issue was the bench seating that we were sat at was absolutely disgusting. It was so badly stained and really unappealing to sit at. With a bit more care in the appearance of the place it could be a really nice seating area. The inside dining area just feels like it has way too many tables and is overly crowded and that's even without all the table being occupied.
Mothers’ Day Lunch 12 - 2pm Food was good and served within a reasonable time but I have several minuses about our day. 1 Noisy but to be expected with the number of people there. 2. A nice singer but she was drowned out by general noise level. 3. Do we really need to have football on all the screens on Mothers’ Day? Surely on Mothers’ Day we could have at least, had pretty scenery slides that women would enjoy. 4. After our meal we tried to order coffee and were told they had no milk. Surely someone could have run around to Woolworths and bought a bottle????? This was about 1.45pm so all the people coming to the second sitting would also miss out. Very disappointing as last year you also ran out of coffee. Not learning from past experiences is not good for business. So all in all rather disappointing.
My team comprised of all women invited me to a bottomless brunch at this place, I didn't know what this was and that it was a one time fee ($70) for the entire time. Very happy with the entire experience, food was good to keep you at a medium fullness and the drinks were literally bottomless, the girls kept ordering us drinks and our server Chelsea deserves a pay raise, the amount of times she made sure what we had was enjoyable and sufficient was amazing. Atmosphere for a dude was great considering it was 99% women. My first bottomless brunch but definitely not my last. Thanks royal hotel Camden!
