The absolute NERVE of this pub to charge $4 for gravy and then proceed to serve you such an insulting portion of gravy. Everything else was really good though. Would recommend for non gravy lovers
They have seating on multiple floors, and by 5:30 the place started filling up quickly! Food was served in reasonable time and was good pub food. Beef Ragu Pappardelle was the best of what we tried.
Went for rooftop drinks pre Swans game. Great vibe and decent drinks
I had been going to the Light Brigade for over 37 years. All was great, then enter the Laundy group, very quickly a lot of locals are disappointed with the changes to the 2 fo 1 Tuesdays, reducing to less than half of the old menu. But it was the no communication- No verbal warning, no signs, no new 2for1 menu, just having the bill doubling over night. Then they change it to taco Tueasdays- what a joke, barely any filling. We went in April 2025, ordered 12 for $60, they were so empty we had to order another 12. my 8 and 10yo wanted more. So we came home to make toast. $120 of tacos for a family of four, who had to come home to cook. Instead of writing a review, I contacted the Laundy Group. I had a group head chef contact me and tell my I would be invited back as apology of what he said wasn't acceptable. I have heard nothing. So I'll assume nothing has changed , so with a decent Mexican place a few doors up and a ton of other great pubs in Paddington, we have no need to go back.
Every time we go here the service is horrible!! Last night was particularly bad, the bartender refused to even speak to us and was incredibly slow making our drinks (it seemed like it was on purpose too). All of the staff act like it’s a massive effort to be there and seemingly hate their jobs. We otherwise really like this pub cause we get eat club discounts and the food is reasonable. However, never had a one single positive experience with the staff there.
