Easily one of the greatest experiences I’ve had! Must have the karrage chicken and the signature ramen! Most pack a punch flavourful chicken I’ve ever had! Very fresh and juicy! (Unfortunately didn’t get a photo - ate it too quick 🙏🏼) Bossman and bosslady were so genuine and very passionate about their craft! Had a cheeky shot with bossman too 🤗 10/10 would recommend to anyone in Sydney/neutral bay area! Wish they had a restaurant in Melbourne! I will 100% be coming back!

This place feels like a hidden gem straight out of Japan. The ramen was absolutely delicious — I went for one with a very long name (and clearly got a bit lost 😄), but the chef noticed my confusion and kindly stepped in to help, which made the experience even more special. The noodles were silky and perfectly cooked, and the broth was rich, full of flavour, and incredibly comforting. Every bite was just spot on. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, soul-warming ramen — I’ll definitely be back! Popular place now i know why !

Absolutely obsessed with this place. From the moment you walk into Manpuku Neutral Bay, the owner and staff make you feel so genuinely welcome, it’s that kind of warmth that makes you want to come back before you’ve even finished your meal. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and feels authentically Japanese without trying too hard. It’s the perfect spot for a casual dinner but still feels special. Now the FOOD. The ramen? We had the manpuku red and kogashi ramen. Hands down the bestttt I’ve had. The broth was rich, flavourful, and comforting in the best way, you can tell it’s made with so much care. And the karaage chicken… unreal. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned so well. I could honestly order that every single time. Safe to say this is officially our go-to ramen spot now. If you’re anywhere near Neutral Bay and love good ramen, you have to try it.

Manpuku Neutral Bay is amazing. The owner and staff are genuinely lovely and always welcoming. We’ve visited a few times and there were a couple of occasions where some items had run out. Once there was no broth so we were given dry noodles, another time no bone or beef broth so they offered vegetable broth, and once no chashu so they substituted chicken. Everything was still delicious and handled kindly by the team. The food is consistently great and a must-try is the Chicken Karaage with scallion oil. Absolutely delicious. A fantastic local spot and well worth visiting.

Manpuku feels like the kind of small, warm, traditional ramen shop that’s getting harder to find. Run by a husband-and-wife duo, there’s a real sense of care in both the food and atmosphere. The ramen are not just variations of the same base — each bowl has its own personality and flavour profile, so I figured the best way to review this place is bowl by bowl. The Green ramen was probably the most unique bowl I have tried at Manpuku. The broth has a lighter, almost refreshing feel compared to heavier tonkotsu-style ramen, but still carries plenty of flavour. It manages to feel both comforting and balanced at the same time. Definitely one for people who want something a little different from the standard ramen lineup. The tonkotsu is Manpuku doing the basics exceptionally well. Rich, traditional and packed with depth of flavour, it ticks every box you want from a classic tonkotsu ramen — silky broth, satisfying richness and that comforting savoury finish. Nothing feels overcomplicated or gimmicky here; it simply outperforms most places by executing the fundamentals at a very high level. The Black is easily my favourite at Manpuku — and the best ramen bowl I have had in Sydney. The soy-based broth with charred garlic strikes an incredible balance of flavour: rich and deeply savoury without becoming too heavy. The egg and bean sprouts complement the dish perfectly, adding texture and freshness that keep everything balanced. Somehow, the more broth you drink, the more you want — which probably says everything about how good this bowl is. Picture attached. The Red is another one of my regular go-to orders. The broth has a noticeable kick, but the heat never takes over the dish — it feels more like an extra layer in the flavour profile rather than pure spice for the sake of it. The chilli and broth combine really well, and even after a single sip you can still taste the depth and warmth lingering afterwards. A great option if you want spice without sacrificing balance. The Signature is another solid ramen and probably the safest all-round option on the menu, especially for first-time visitors. It shares some similarities with the tonkotsu, with a rich traditional flavour profile that feels familiar and comforting. While it’s not my personal favourite, everything in the bowl combines really well and it’s easy to see why it would appeal to a wide range of people. Also worth mentioning the Asahi on tap. Served ice cold in frosty glasses, it’s the perfect match for the ramen. There’s honestly not much better than taking that first sip alongside a hot bowl of ramen — somehow all your problems disappear for a moment.
