Not a big restaurant but they served very good food here. Reasonable price and quite a big portion. Friendly staff and they served the food quite fast. It's a must to go when you're in Burwood.
Had a great feed here. We enjoyed their lamb skewers, lamb/beef stuffed bread and their chicken hand pulled noodles. The noodles are chewy with great texture and a hearty serving size even for the small portion. 5/5 The lamb skewers were seasoned well, only the slightest gamey flavour but the spices masked it. 4/5 The stuffed flat bread was very crispy on the outside yet still soft, perfect with some of their table-side chilli sauce. 5/5 I quite liked the sweet yoghurt drink, reminds me of the chinese glass bottle yoghurts I drank when I was little.
had delicious plov from here, ate it celebrating Nauryz and everyone was absolutely in love with the dish. we bought two big portions and it was enough for over ten people. very tender meat and fragrant rice with sweet carrot, tastes like home. definitely recommend
No services at all! It is a one-man-band restaurant! One staff served all the tables! We have to grab cutlery n sharing plate by ourselves. Atmosphere: not much coz thw decoration is poor and the dinning is messy esp. When you walk thru the dirty kitchen! Some food are ok while some are bad! For instant, fried noodles are oily n the noodles are too hard to chew! Eggplant and chilli chicken is ok but just met the normal standard. Lamb rice is too hard n only have few lamb meat in the rise but it cost $30 which is quite pricy for such rice dish! I do not recomend you to go there unless you cannot find anywhere else to eat in Burwood!
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly the worst Big Plate Chicken (Da Pan Ji) I’ve ever had. The dish came out only a few minutes after ordering, and after one bite it was obvious that it was pre-made food. The flavor was completely different from authentic Xinjiang-style big plate chicken, and the potatoes were still slightly undercooked. It genuinely tasted terrible. What made the experience even worse was the service. This is a restaurant where the menu, signs, and basically everything in the store is written in Chinese, yet none of the staff could speak Chinese. We tried to ask about the dish, and the female staff member said she would get the boss to talk to us. We waited around 10 minutes and nobody came. She then came back while chewing food, rolling her eyes while talking to us, with a very rude attitude as if we were intentionally causing trouble. When I asked when the dish had been made, she said “this morning.” Later the boss finally came over with a very aggressive attitude and kept insisting that “this is just how our food tastes” and that “nobody else says it’s bad.” When I asked him the same question, he said the dish was prepared in the evening. Their answers didn’t even match. Very disappointing food and even worse customer service. Definitely would not come back.
