Everything is TERRIBLE. The music is obnoxiously loud. I understand they have live music, but the volume makes conversation impossible. This was an issue during my first visit too, but the food was good enough to make it tolerable then. For a restaurant named 'Baithak', a space meant for social interaction, it’s ironic that you can’t even talk to people across the table. I didn’t come for a concert. I came for a meal. The service is poorly managed and the two front of house staff need more training. They didn’t show up for 10 minutes to get our order. With the restaurant nearly empty, they still crowded another group right next to our table. When our food finally arrived, the staff tried to serve it to the wrong table first, took it back to kitchen before bringing it to us. I came back specifically for the food, but the quality has dropped significantly. The dhido and thali sets were worst ever so we couldn’t finish the food. Since the food was the only thing making the loud environment worth it before, I have no reason to return. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!
Large venue with flavoursome food. A great range of dishes with tasty spices. Prabin the chef was very nice. Also personally served the food himself. We asked him for the chef's recommendations and he delivered. Food arrived hot and fresh. Very flavoursome.
Baithak is such a warm and welcoming place to enjoy Nepali food and good vibes. The atmosphere feels like home, the staff are friendly, and the live screenings and events make it even more special. A perfect spot to gather with friends, support Nepal, and have a great time together. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic taste and a lively Nepali environment in Syd❤️
