Such a great find! Every dish was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I came in expecting a typical brunch menu, but was pleasantly surprised to see they also serve hearty lunch plates like steak and beef ribs. Everything we ordered was spot on.
The food was good but was expecting excellent based on reviews and word of mouth. Prawn toast was fantastic and sides were great. Steak was good for the price. Wine selection was good and if you did your research you know which wines weren’t marked up 3x or more. I would skip dessert. It took 45 mins to order drinks, which I thought was poor service. I know they were busy but… Our waitress that took our orders was on point but the rest of the staff seemed over it. They weren’t rude or anything but just seemed exhausted. They needed more wait staff like the waitress that took our orders.. felt they were short staffed We paid just under $1k for six people, which included 2 bottles and cocktails for 3. Price wise it wasn’t too bad for a night out in Sydney.
Could not have been happier with the quality of the food. It's upmarket restaurant pricing but it delivers. The Kingfish sashimi entree was exquisite. I would order it repeatedly it was so good. Glad I had the puffy bread so I could get all the leftover sauce from it. All our mains were delicious including the sides of crispy brussel sprouts and greens. Service was ok even though it was very busy. No long wait time for the food.
Everything we ordered tasted excellent excellent. Loved the scallops. The kind fish had a creamy sauce which is a surprise. Usually it's sliced thinner with a more delicate sauce. But it was tasty. Prawn toast was lovely, slightly tangy. Lamb shall pie was huge and very hearty. The Moreton Bay bug pasta was interesting, tasty but the barbecue sauce was unexpected. We love Brussels sprouts when done right but these were slightly overly flavoursome and overpowered flavours as a side dish. We finished off our meal with a nice persimmon creme brule.
Boronia Kitchen is an amazing Aus cafe in Hunters Hill, Pittwater Road! Ambience is warm n cosy! Good portion is very generous (that roasted lamb with salad filled me up for hours)! N food quality n presentation is tops! They also make great coffees n we also enjoyed their cocktails/wines.
