Thank you to the owner for the incredibly warm and thoughtful hospitality. The falafel and rice pudding were absolutely delicious! When the owner heard it was our first time trying Egyptian food, he kindly introduced the dishes, explained how to enjoy them, and even treated us to some appetizers and dessert. We absolutely loved the experience and highly recommend everyone come here to try authentic Egyptian cuisine. Congratulations to Egypt on the win! Thank you for giving everyone such an exciting match!

My partner and I had an incredible meal at Cairo Bites. We decided to go because of the reviews and we were not disappointed! The owner was super sweet and helped us navigate the menu, and I went with his suggestions for a vegetarian meal and it was absolutely delicious. The place consists of several ghost kitchens that cater to delivery, but there's a place to sit and eat your meal as well. It's simple but comfortable enough for a quick meal. We're definitely going back.

“Well this is a new dining experience,” my dining companion said. We’re dining from one of nine ghost kitchens—delivery-only dark kitchens—housed in the Bellee warehouse in Kogarah. They’re not quite dark, some people, like ourselves, visit to eat in the delivery driver lounge. Some visit to pick up their own dinner, but mostly they’re the domain of delivery services. While the walkway of pick-up windows woos us with Greek, Italian, Hungarian and Vietnamese, we’re here for an Egyptian feast courtesy of Cairo Bites. Each pick-up window, with menus plastered around it, fronts a small commercial kitchen, with big silver ventilation running overhead. For owner, Amir Sarhan, it represents an intermediate step between a market stall at The Rocks Markets, and a restaurant. Oozing hospitality even in this strange setting, he’s wasted in a ghost kitchen. The Cairo oriental meal ($45) is delivered en masse in a series of silver bowls. We each get a generous bowl of Egyptian felafel. They’re tiny, crisp on the outside and fluffy within. Amir tells us to wrap them in flatbread with tahini and Egyptian moussaka, a tangy vinegar-forward mix of eggplant, capsicum, tomatoes and garlic. It’s a great combination. The meal also includes a warm thick ful, an Egyptian fava bean stew. We add on a bowl of shawarma ($15) which, while surplus to need, is interestingly different from its Lebanese cousin. The spicing is bolder, with cumin, cardamom and black pepper coming to the fore. Augment it in bread with vibrant chilli sauce, and accessible pickles. I just wish I’d left space to try the rice pudding ($10).

I had dinner at Cairo Bite and honestly, what a hidden gem. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place sooner. The falafel was the best I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not dry at all. The tahini, moussaka, foul, koshari, and hawawshi were all spot on. Every dish was full of flavour. The owner was incredibly kind and generous. He served us himself, treated us to complimentary rice pudding, and even packed extra falafel for us to take home. We were truly spoiled. I highly recommend Cairo Bite. If you haven’t been yet, give it a try. I don’t think you’ll regret it. Thank you for such a wonderful meal.

Great place for Egyptian traditional food. Same tast, same feeling when you eat in Egypt. Food is cheap when you compare it with other places, however the quality is great, amount is large and enough. Egyptian sousage, liver and Koshari are great and highly recommended. Only issues, few parking spots
