D’Penyetz is a great spot in Burwood if you’re craving ayam penyet or cendol. Their cendol menu has so many different variations — you can even get it topped with durian! I tried the cendol with cincau. The green jelly was a little mushy in texture for my liking and I would’ve preferred it to be more springy, but the gula melaka coconut base was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The ayam penyet was really enjoyable and you can choose from a variety of sauces and sambals to suit your spice level and taste. We also tried the fried dancing fish which came with two sauces. The crispy barramundi had a nice turmeric flavour and was very satisfying to eat. QR code ordering made everything quick and simple, which is great because this place gets quite busy. Best to come early if you want to avoid the crowds!
Delicious Nasi goreng special and Mie goreng special are a treat. Very tasty. Different combinations of rice, noodles with chicken piece, shredded chicken or prawns can be tried. Different drinks with the name Dcendol with different combinations are available. Service is good. Sitting is a bit congested.
Quick serving, funky decor. The fried rice came with loads of chicken and toppings. Almost impossible for me to finish alone with an egg and quarter chicken on the side. I really enjoyed the pickles. Highly recommend sharing it with a friend. Loved the durian ice. Large chunks of durian is pure madness!
First time visiting D’Penyetz & D’Cendol and it did not disappoint. The smashed fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, especially with the spicy sambal. The ice cendol was the perfect way to cool down, refreshing, generous in size, and delicious. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and excellent food. Definitely worth a visit!
Everything was excellent until I bit into a sour piece of tofu which probably not fresh and tasted a bit spoilt. I did notified the staff and got an apology. Hopefully I can have a better experience next time.
