Fantastic food here! We had a mates bday and had 7 people. Entrees were takoyakis and they arrived quickly and had a deep fried batter, rather than a traditional one- it was very yummy! We ordered the deluxe sashimi which was delicious- special shoutout to the lime scallops which were so good! We also ordered dumpling roll, volcano roll and rainbow roll. Rainbow rolls was outstanding and the were all decent portions. We ordered 2 yaki udons and a donburi.they were all excellent and reasonably priced for a nice Japanese restaurant!
This is a very popular Japanese restaurant and we arrived with high hopes that it would be up to our standards compared to others we have tried in nearby suburbs. We ordered sashimi, sushi. Udon with Pork katsu, teriyaki chicken Udon. Of these dishes the udon soup was clear and full of vegetables which was nicer than ones we have tried elsewhere, but the sushi and sashimi were not very good, their presentation was great but they lacked flavour and were quite dry in texture. The pork katsu was covered in sauce, which is popular but I would have preferred the sauce to be on the side to dip as required, as the flavour was so overpowering that it could have been any form of protein and it would have still tasted the same. The teriyaki chicken was huge pieces of chicken thigh, and the portion was too big for us to finish, but if ordered on its own it would be plenty if you were hungry. Staff were friendly and the service was good, but the taste isn't as refined as other options in Eastwood and Epping. If unsure of what to order, I recommend the udon soup.
Got a pork katsu bento today with some sushimi. The pork katsu is crunchy and it is juicy inside. Dumpling can be better if the skin is a bit crispy. Sushimi and sushi are nice!
Clean and tidy set up, ideal for a simple family and friends catch up lunch/dinner. Sashimi in the Bento Box worth a mention. Upon checkout my card was charged three times as their cashier's terminal didn't recognise the payments. The owner was nice enough to give me a heads-up to keep an eye on my transaction activity. The refund process is efficient and stress-free. I really appreciate his professional response. Good service indeed.
Dropped in on a hungry Thursday and ordered the BBQ bento that was promising in concept, but uneven in execution. To be fair, a bento is designed around variety and smaller portions, and that structure does come through. However, the seafood component still felt noticeably underdelivered. The salmon sashimi was cut unusually small, and the nigiri topped with very thin slices of fish leaning more toward minimal than intentional restraint. It tipped the balance from “tasting portions” into something that felt a little sparse. The meats were cooked well, though slightly gamey, while the salad was heavily dressed and the dumplings arrived coated in vinaigrette which was an unexpected choice that didn’t quite land. Service reflected a restaurant stretched thin. A single waitress was managing a full house with admirable composure, though tables accumulated dishes and requests stacked up. The owner eventually stepped in to assist, but only toward the end of service. Overall, while the format suggests balance and variety, the execution felt somewhat underfilled, like a meal that didn’t quite meet its own potential.
