My sister and I take my elderly mum to lunch each week. We were celebrating my Mum’s 94th birthday. We had relatives attend with quite a few children for afternoon tea and drinks. The staff were very patient with the children and all the staff served us really well. Thank you so much, for a lovely afternoon.
Our fifth visit to folk, very impressed with how well trained the staff are, barman Ramon above expectations serving the wine, felt like high end city restaurant and our waitress Izzy although a trainee was very professional and personable, we had the pepper steak pie and surf n turf , did not disappoint, both outstanding quality and flavours , yes we highly recommend
The establishment exuded an exceptional ambiance. Tradies Gymea unexpectedly unveiled a captivating water feature within their elevator upon our arrival, providing an exhilarating live entertainment experience. The service was impeccable, with staff exhibiting exceptional attentiveness. The food arrived promptly and was highly commendable for its presentation and generous portions. It was noteworthy that the kitchen was abuzz with activity, efficiently preparing and getting meals ready. The meals were picked up and served within seconds of the bell’s ringing. The waitstaff demonstrated remarkable efficiency and professionalism. Very pleasant dinning experience .
We have been members of Tradies for over 20 years on and off. The dining area in which Folk is situated has been a favourite. A bit sceptical about a new menu but our fears were allayed as the dishes arrived. Roast of the day was simple yet bursting with flavour and texture. The steak, as that's really what it was, melted in one's mouth. The surf and turf was just as delectable according to one of our party. We had a variety of desserts which were either a touch on the sweet or rich side, however, each plate was finished readily. The staff were exceptional, and the atmosphere warm and inviting.
Busy and heavily booked in advance, so don't just roll up. I felt it was a bit dark, no doubt this was to generate atmosphere. My wife had a chicken, leek and mushroom pie. She loved it. Indeed, I had some of the accompanying mash potatoes and totally adored it. My own meal was beer battered fish with chips and salad. I liked it, but felt that the salad could be slightly more adventurous and that there could be more chips. But all said, still 5 stars. For our cocktail, a coconut margarita.
