Best birthday dinner ever at Fred's! The chicken, both pastas, potatoes, and fish were outstanding, service was warm and attentive from every staff member, and the lighting is perfect for photos. 5 girls spent just over $800, totally worth it. This place lives up to the hype, will be back and highly recommend to everyone! 5 stars! Thanks.

This is my first time visited Fred restaurant Paddington that was highly recommended from my friend. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. Staffs gave everyone a welcoming smile. We ordered the rib-eye steak with medium rare. Meat was tender and juicy and not overdone. John Dory was fresh and nice too. Definitely will come back.

Food: 4.75/5 Atmosphere: 5 - unique woody interior with just the right amount of lighting Service: 5/5 - would give 6 if I could. Very attentive and patient service, someone accidentally spilled wine (our apologies again) and they cleaned it up right away and fixed the dish for us. Their fougasse (bread) was hot and aromatic, delicious with the butter/ olive oil. Oysters were fresh and perfect with the vinegarette. We got the raviolo from the pastas, which had a spiced mince and a slightly crispy outer shell. The steak was beautiful, although it would taste even better with some sort of homemade sauce instead of just a choice of mustard. The chicken was in my opinion better than the steak. It comes with some beans/ brussel sprouts/legumes in a sauce. For the sides, definitely recommend the potatoes which was a table favourite. Their chocolate cake was the best dessert- it had a brownie like base with chocolate fudge layer on-top; I found the mango sorbet interesting, not particularly a fan of the spicy/salty/sour sprinkles.

Not that we didn't believe Oprah when she said "best bread I've had in my life" but we had to try it ourselves .(Also, I LOVE fougasse!) It was very very very good fougasse! Love everything we ordered! The wood fired raviolo with braised greens & ricotta, parmigiano & sage brown butter was delish. Cherry tart with Amaretto ice cream was divine! Very friendly atmosphere, good customer service and relaxed atmosphere.

Updated review. Have revisited a second time in 6 months and they somehow managed to make the experience even better than the last! This time we requested the chef's table as my partner and I love the open kitchen concept and watching them and learning how they prepare the food. The chefs were so so so accommodating and engaging any patient with us!! Even though it was a fully booked night, they still had time to answer our questions on how to make things and what they were using etc. The head chef even came over to make a mini pizza/fococcia bread thing that we asked about as it wasn't on the menu . Apparently it was for their other bar/bistro downstairs .. he kindly proceeded to make a mini version of it on the house just for us 🥰🥰 All the staff were fantastic and friendly and the food was obviously spectacular . . Hard to choose a favorite dish this time. We cannot recommend it enough! . . . . . This is my new favorite restaurant in Sydney. The farm to table vibe is just so cozy and homey but done in such a classy way. We had the most spectacular king prawns ever!!!! Those king prawns and the fresh hot bread to soak up all those sweet savory juices from the prawns is all it took to give this place my current #1 dish in Sydney. We went for my birthday and loved the sweet hand written birthday note. Also, the bread pudding with prunes!!! Who knew that would be such an amazing combination! We are definitely coming back and bringing friends and family back!
