14 of us went to Garçon for lunch. We arrived and it was very quiet… and we had to consistently call someone so we could order drinks. The service in general was very poor, slow, inexperienced but friendly. They ran out of crepes… so no crepes. They ran out of salmon and limoncello. There was nothing French about the lunch menu. The food was nice, generous servings… but not very French. No crepes, no escargot (only at night) , no French onion soup either. The music in the background was Arab, the staff are Indian and Asian, so in general, not French at all. The food is nice (4/5) but the service is not good at all… we had to call them every time we needed anything… like we had to ask them to please clear the table, we were having our desserts among all dirty dishes everywhere. We had to return two warm beers. There are a lot of flies inside the restaurant. We wanted to order something else and they said the kitchen is closed without warning. They don’t do split bills.
Easy 5 stars!! The food was delicious, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Such a lovely experience definitely coming back!
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of lane cove. You can’t really go wrong here - amazing food menu and the coffees are great too! 5 ⭐️ all the way. The regularly run special menus too ❤️
This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and aesthetic especially with food presentation however the food quality is not the best. I've tried a few items and I always feel something is lacking in flavour.
Although it is a French restaurant, the experience does not feel particularly “French.” The breakfast and brunch menu is fairly typical, and the dishes themselves were a bit disappointing. The plating felt quite simple, similar to something you might prepare at home. I was hoping to see a bit more creativity or style that would make the breakfast plates stand out. The coffee, however, was nice and strong with a good kick. Service was quite minimal.
