We tried a famous 50-year-old family recipe for handmade noodle soup in Eastwood, and it was the perfect comfort food on a cold day. 🍜✨ 📋 We tried: 🥣 Sesame Kalguksu (들깨칼국수) – $22 The broth was rich, nutty, and full of flavour. The perilla seeds gave the soup a creamy and comforting taste. 🥟 Pork Dumpling Kalguksu (칼국수) – $22 The hand-cut noodles were perfectly chewy, and the broth was warm and comforting. The dumplings were also generous in size. 🥟 Mixed Dumplings (모듬만두) – $18 Juicy, well filled, and freshly steamed. 바지락 칼국수 (Clam Kalguksu) $22 💡 Good to know: 🍚 You get one free extra serving of rice or noodles to enjoy with the remaining broth. 🥢 There is a self-serve station where you can refill the banchan and fresh kimchi. ⏳ This place is very popular and often has a long queue, so it is better to come early.

I went there because I heard the Jjolmyeon is delicious, and all the other dishes we tried were amazing as well. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the kimchi was especially delicious. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back again! 😊

The kaljebi was really delicious. I saw some reviews saying the broth was a bit bland, but I personally liked that it was mild and not too overpowering. It was perfect to customise with pepper, dadaegi, or chilli sauce. The dumplings were also really good — even better than the dumpling place in Strathfield in my opinion. The skin was thin and they had a nice handmade taste. The fresh geotjeori kimchi was a little spicy and paired perfectly with the kalguksu. One small suggestion would be to add a bit more seaweed as a topping, as I think it would make it taste even closer to kalguksu in Korea. Overall, a really satisfying meal and I’d definitely come back💕

I should have queued for yeodongsik but it was quite disappointing that I came here . I had walked past this restaurant many times since it opened and always saw it full, with long queues and mostly middle-aged or elderly customers, so I assumed it must be a place with some authentic food and traditional flavour behind it. Unfortunately, after finally trying it tonight, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the seafood noodle soup, The bowl came with half a blue swimming crab, one prawn, and two mussels , the seafood itself was acceptable, but the broth was the biggest letdown. It tasted like the seafood was simply boiled in plain water for 10 mins then heavily seasoned with MSG. There was no depth at all no beef /pork bone, chicken, or any kind of proper stock flavour. the MSG flavour was overwhelming, and the aftertaste was very unpleasant. The noodles themselves had no character. Frankly, the noodle was so bland. I would not pay $25 for this bowl again The second dish was a small portion of steamed pork. The side dishes were clearly not house-made (they looked store-bought and plated), and without them, the pork was extremely bland. The only thing that helped was the chilli soy sauce on the table, but even then, the dish was nothing special. At least there was no pork smell that’s the only positive I can give. Spending $55 on these two dishes felt like very poor value. The worst part was the aftertaste — I drank 600ml of water afterwards and still felt extremely thirsty, which says a lot. Overall, this was a very disappointing meal, and unfortunately I won’t be returning.

My second time here and I had a satisfying meal! The Handpull Dough Kalguksu & Seafood Kalguksu were a perfect match for today's rainy cold weather 😌 I really enjoyed the dumplings as well! Their fresh Kimchi was so addictive! I would actually pay for their kimchi to take home 😄
