We booked a table for 2 on Saturday night and basically didn’t need to book because they never acknowledged our booking. We ordered two pastas, both great. Entrees were great. However, dessert being a tiramisu was disappointing. I was expecting a traditional tiramisu. But what we got was nothing close to it. It was served in a jar, all the espresso and liquids reached only half the biscuit, so half was dry, then the filling was a custard type, no cream, no mascarpone. Was very disappointing for the price it was. Service was ok as well. Was not acknowledged by the waiters and we waited at the front to pay for 10 minutes. No one asked us what we needed. Another customer wanted to pay and they got served.
We’ve been here twice now and it’s become one of our favourite Italian restaurants! The Pinsa is absolutely our favourite and the reason we keep coming back. The pasta and every other dish we’ve tried have been delicious and generous portions. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and attentive. Having travelled to Italy before, the warm ambience and genuine Italian vibe brought back so many wonderful memories of our trip. Recommend this place and will definitely be back again!
To put in context, I was looking for roman pasta. We ordered a limoncello spritz, which was very good, and a pinsa focaccia for sharing, which was crunchy, tasty and with good texture. For main dishes, we ordered a Tonnarelli alla Carbonara and a Rigatoni alla Amatriciana. I was dissapointed that they brought us Rigatoni instead of Tonnarelli on the carbonara (The physical menu says Tonnarelli, but the digital one doesn't). Nonetheless, the pasta itself was al dente, silky, and both the carbonara and the amatriciana sauce were tasty. However, the guanciale on both dishes was not crispy or fresh at all, which is a must in this kind of pasta. I would say that their expertise probably lies in the pinsas.
Great pasta and pizza. The eggplant parmigiana is delicious, the meatballs are moreish, the burrata is so fresh, and the tiramisu has the perfect creamy coffee taste. The service can be a little slow, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They also have gelato, the sour cherry one is gorgeous and my fave - I keep returning for more. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff. The Verdone ($30) was a highlight, crispy crust and flavoursome toppings. The citrus drink was very strong and sour. I wish the pasta servings were larger especially for prices over $30. There is a 15% surcharge on public holidays. It was a good experience but I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back as it's really expensive for what we got personally.
