Absolutely delicious! The grilled pork meat pie was flaky, crispy, and packed with juicy flavour. The prawn, chicken & corn dumplings and shaomai were excellent, especially with the chilli garlic sauce, and the wonton soup was warm and comforting. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. If you're in Eastwood, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!
This may have just become my new go-to spot to get hearty Chinese meat pies (Xian Bing) and dumplings, I’ve already visited 2 weeks in a row! If you’ve never had a Chinese meat pie, these are pan fried patties with a crispy outer crust and a pork and chive filling. This was my first time trying them and it was so deliciously juicy and flavourful, I can see why this is their signature. They have a range of dumplings to choose from including soupy wontons and pan fried dumplings with that crispy golden skirt. Seriously you can’t go wrong! They also serve noodles in their classic broth and we chose the thick potato noodles, which had the best chewy texture. They do 2 amazing combo sets for only $48.80, which includes their signature meat pies + 2 dishes, a side dish & 2 drinks. If you have not tried this spot yet, this is the perfect place for a really good hearty meal!
The dumplings, baos and wontons are delicious, affordable and perfect for cold winter days. They also offer chilli oil and vinegar, the perfect condiment for chinese dumplings. Only critique I have is the customer service was lackadaisical. Many tables had uncleaned plates on them still and wait staff looked overworked and tired. The kitchen staff looked proper and professional so it could have just been a front of house issue only. Nonetheless good food.
Cutest pies ! These are famous Shanghai style meat buns that are prepared on site by hard working ladies in the kitchen. The buns were very cute and juicy but you need to order non- spicy ones to appreciate the original meaty flavour. The grain porridge was very watery unlike my expectations. You need to get your own utensils and sauces. The place is quite big and the waitress was quite passive. Good place for a quick snack with your friends.
We came here because our local friends highly recommended these meat pies, and I am so glad we listened. We decided to order the signature grilled pork meat pie, and the taste was unexpectedly good. The flavor isn't your traditional savory or soy-sauce heavy style. Instead, it has a wonderful sweet and salty balance that actually reminded me a lot of Shanghai-style pan-fried buns. When you pair that juicy filling with the generous topping of fresh green onions and the perfectly crispy crust, it is just amazing.
