A very good restaurant found by chance while walking with a friend. It was delicious, and I came back later with my girlfriend. I stayed 6 months in Australia, and this was in my top 2 (and maybe even the top 1) restaurant I discovered! The quality is very high overall, and the prices are really fair. I highly recommend this establishment!

Went out for lunch at Joe's table on Thursday with the girls. We ordered pan-fried garlic chive dumplings, duck salad, pulled beef red curry, rice noodles with beef, and caramelised pork. Everything was super delicious, but my personal favourites were the dumplings and the caramelised pork. One was packed with incredible flavour, while the other was perfectly balanced and reminded me of the comforts of home. The restaurant wasn’t fancy, but the food was excellent. We honestly could have stayed and eaten every dish on the lunch menu. The restaurant has been featured in the SMH, and I’ve heard it’s really popular in the neighbourhood, and reservations for dinner is advised.

This is a place you go if you want absolutely delicious food that is layered, packed with flavor, and free of any pretentious airs. The two-person team nailed so much of our lunch time experience it is hard to decide where to start. I would say the carmalized pork and coconut rice stole the show, but that undersells the really well done lemongrass chicken that was nicely spicy with a bit of sweetness. Both were outstanding. We also had the duck and prawn pancakes, which were conveniently wrapped in fresh spring roll rice paper. The large order of two was more than enough as a starter. Tthe team at Joe's made our somewhat picky inlaws feel welcome, despite my dear mother in law asking for the friend rice minus the chicken and the vegetables. The service also gets a bump because there was a lunchtime table of like 16 who were all getting food cranked out and somehow the kitchen managed to work us in so we didn't wait very long. Joe's Table feels like a casual date night spot for couples who are already comfortable and just want great food, friends just looking to hang out without needing to be part of a "scene" so to speak, or (as mentioned) business lunch crowds. Although most of my reviews skew positive because I don't feel the need to promote my bad experiences, this is one that stands out as superlative among the meals we've had abroad over the last few months. Local or tourist, I'd really say make a point to visit this spot!

We dined here last Friday with 5 friends. The restaurant was full and very loud. Two tables for 6 people felt a bit tight but still manageable. I noticed a group of 4 seated at a small table and they looked quite cramped, so maybe the best group size to dine here is 3 or 5. Most dishes were spicy but packed with so much flavour—I loved them! Especially the bánh xèo rice paper rolls and the fish curry. Food did take quite a while to come out since there seemed to be only one chef, and the portions were on the smaller side for the price. We didn’t know the coconut ice cream has to be pre-ordered at least a week in advance, so I’d love to come back to try it next time. BYO is very reasonable (though they also have wine available).

The food here is fresh and delicious. With extra staff assisting Joe, the owner, the dishes come out faster. I love the down-to-earth and simple decor—it gives the feeling of dining in a cozy restaurant somewhere in Southeast Asia. Thai fish cake and duck pancake are my favourites!
