The wok hei seafood rice noodle was the highlight, packed with a generous mix of seafood including clams, fish cake, and prawns, with great smoky flavour. The seafood laksa came in a big portion and was quite filling, with prawns, wonton, egg, and chicken. However, the taste didn’t quite live up to expectations; it was decent but not as rich or flavourful as I’d hoped. Overall, good portion sizes and variety, but I’d definitely recommend the wok hei dishes over the laksa.

The mud crab was fresh and cooked to order, and glad we did. Simple onion omelette and kangkong to accompany the already rich Singaporean chilli mud crab. Mantau is a must to mop all that sauce. The place boasts authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dishes. Simple delicious flavours, service is fast, ambience is family friendly.

Kreta Ayer in Ashfield serves up authentic Singaporean comfort food with a homely touch—think chilli crab and tender chicken rice that feel straight out of a local kitchen. It’s a popular spot, so bookings are recommended, especially on weekends. Located along busy Liverpool Road, parking can be tricky, so consider public transport. The casual vibe makes it great for families and anyone craving nostalgic flavours done right.

Portion was great. We came on a weekday and with our bill more than 85$, we got the clam for free. Service was very good and attentive. Drinks were nice. We ordered chili crab with fried buns, kumquat tea and iced cendol. All was great and we had a great night.

Singaporean food - hainan chicken, balacan spinach with prawn paste all were good. Service is quick. Food was delicious. No alcohol served so BYO.
