I had an absolutely incredible dining experience at Louie last night. From start to finish, the food, wine, and atmosphere were flawless. We started with the Kingfish and Tuna crudo, which were both fresh and beautifully balanced. The grilled prawns were a standout, but the real star was the market fish—the grilled barramundi. It was honestly one of the best prepared pieces of Barramundi I’ve ever had. We paired it with the Charred Broccoli side and a glass of Pinot Noir, and every flavor and texture worked perfectly together. Beyond the food, the ambiance is what will make me a regular. Even though it was a chilly night outside, the restaurant was warm, cozy, and inviting—I felt comfortable enough to take my jumper off immediately. It’s a lovely, easy setting for a long conversation. To top it off, the staff were exceptional. They were friendly and observant without being pushy, and I never felt rushed. I’m already looking forward to making this my go-to spot, especially as the weather gets cooler. Highly recommended!
Enjoyable experience and a great place to go. The food was cooked well and flavourful. The Paperdelle was a winner along with the Prawn Toast. When it comes to dessert the Louie Sundae is awesome! Well worth the visit.
WOW CUZ . Honestly one of the best joints I’ve have been do. Every dollar was worth it. Shoutout to our waiter too for his service . Went here for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. Cozy atmosphere, an Italian version of armorica. Also helps the place is not owned by a large chain. The eggplant was the highlight at only $22 and the steak was perfect. I would recommend to any one.
First visit to Louie (at Coogee) for a work post-Christmas dinner and I was extremely impressed with everything, from the food to the service. I cannot find one single fault on the night. As our table had 14 people, we went with the $75 per person set menu: 5 starters, 4 mains, 2 sides and tiramisu for dessert. For me, some of the highlights was the whitebait & calamari fritto, and roasted market fish. Everyone at our table raved about all the dishes. Food-wise, everything was faultless, from starters to dessert. The food felt like it kept coming as well on the night, everyone enjoyed all of the dishes and tried everything. Service was also amazing: attentive, helpful and always walking around checking on our table. I definitely would come back to Louie again for their hearty and tasty Italian food.
We were served by Hannah for dinner tonight with exceptional service. She was attentive, bubbly, friendly and was able to pick out the best food choices through the menu. The food was fresh, well seasoned and the beef tartare was by far a standout dish. Will be coming back!
