Enjoyable lunch celebration with work colleagues. All meals were delicious and the service was great.
Amazing food and lovely service! Jaqui and Megan were accommodating and sweet — they made our dinner extra special. I had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, and the double-cooked pork was heavenly.
It's perfect for scrambled eggs. The food for breakfast is excellent. Mixed messages from staff about cold water "You shouldn't take the jug to your table" and "Here, let me take it to your table." I had to point out that the fruit salad bowl had not been refilled for a while. Chair seat base support is a bit lacking. Could be a design issue with age of furniture. Also very pleased with the broccolini. Caesar Salad could have had smaller pieces of lettuce and definitely needs anchovies which are noticeably absent. Lovely, flavoursome and generous olive platter.
Overall the restaurant has good food and great service. There is a roasted bone marrow dish which is quite rare to see.👏 The cheesecake is different. It has the sink of the Basque cheesecake, but it doesn't have the burnt aroma and smooth filling. Instead, it looks more like a New York cheesecake? This is a little bit different from what I expected.😆
Was staying at the lodge and stopped into the bar as there was a line up for the checking at the lodge. ⭐️ They have a happy hour 4-7 couple of work nights per week, most beers $6- Top value. Tried the bar menu - it was great and well above your expectation of a bar - my freind had the Sous Vide Pork Belly which looked good. I had the chicken schnitzel which for $25 was excellent value the chicken and batter was fresh crunchy and tasted delicious the accompanying salad was fresh and crunchy Lol. I had the chocolate Brûlée - which was the only reason I skipped the pork entree already mentioned. I love a brûlée - this one was very nice but I won’t be changing to brûlée at home from the standard - the chocolate was now to try though. The restaurant menu looked nice but I thought the bar menu offered excellent value, and the chance to sit out in the delightful courtyard. I have included a picture from the breakfast menu, which was a buffet with custom coffee - and was better prepared and presented than the standard high quality hotel Buffett. The blonde more maturer waitress was very helpful prompt and on the ball - she deserved a top rated 9/10 - star excellent service. 😊
