Located at 300 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 This is a lovely place I had passed quite a few times, always with the intention of visiting. Today I finally found the time. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s always been crowded when I passed and today was no exception. It was packed, but the staff were still friendly and very welcoming. I only had to wait no more than 5 minutes for a table. There’s seating inside and outside but it’s not a large restaurant so it can fill up fast, even at lunch time on a Friday. The menu is huge, pages of a wonderful selection of dishes. I had the Wok Fried Chilli King Prawns with Garlic Chive and Onion along with Old Town Fried Rice with BBQ Pork and Prawns. To start with the Vegetable Spring Rolls. It was all so delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. A huge thanks 🙏 and thumbs up for a wonderful visit. 👍👍

Good ambiance, music, and friendly staff. The pork BBQ was a bit chewy but still tasty. Lamb was bland but tender. Wanted to love the xiao long bao but they were disappointing 😭 The skins broke way too easily, most of them were stuck together in the steamer tray, and there was barely any soup inside. Couldn’t even do the classic “lift carefully onto the soup spoon and bite into it” moment because they just tore apart immediately. More dumpling than soup dumpling tbh.

This restaurant would be the closest restaurant for yum cha & Cantonese food in Barangaroo area. I have been here twice & the food have been good both times. The dishes we’ve had were all tasty, especially the Pan Fried Dumplings. Price is expected for Barangaroo area. Bookings may be needed (especially for groups) as tables filled out quickly. I believe that there is minimum $ spending per person, but I’m unsure whether it’s $25 or $35 pp (a reviewer said $25pp minimum for walk ins & $35pp minimum for bookings).

Old Town Hong Kong at Barangaroo has a nice location and a modern interior. The big windows and outdoor seating give it a chilled harbour side vibe, so it feels like a good place to sit down for a casual lunch. We ordered the stir fried soy noodles, claypot eggplant with minced pork, jellyfish and red bean pancake. Portions were generous and the food came out quickly. The noodles had good wok fragrance and the texture was springy rather than soggy. The jellyfish was a refreshing cold side dish. The claypot eggplant was flavourful and tender. The sauce was more on the sweet side compared to other Hong Kong style places, but still enjoyable. The red bean pancake was crispy, but the ratio of pastry to filling could be better. It leaned more pastry than red bean. Service was fine. Food came out in the correct order and we never had to wait long to get attention. Prices are higher than normal Hong Kong cafes which makes sense considering the Barangaroo location, but it means value depends on what you order. Overall, a convenient option in Barangaroo when you want quick HK dishes in a comfortable setting. Good location. Food is decent, not mind blowing.

Absolutely hands down the most amazing experience for dinner this evening. Our wait staff were so attentive and thoroughly professional with my food allergies. She kept me completely at ease and communicated throughout the entire dinner service. Beyond impressed! Great food and personable service!
