Great food and service, love the Greek inspired menu. Lovely traditional pub and has a great atmosphere. Staff are all super friendly.
Fantastic local pub with excellent service and a great menu. We pop in after work regularly and it is a really welcoming venue. Tonight they had they inaugural Woollahra Jazz Club which was awesome.
Lovely Sunday afternoon spent at Phoenix. We were greeted by friendly bar staff and easily found a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the bar. Good selection of beers on, the pitas and hot chips were delish and if it weren’t for our dinner at home we would have gladly tucked into a larger meal (it smelt delicious in the bar!). We were also lucky to experience a wonderful jazz band playing live which added to the atmosphere. Great, unpretentious spot and can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!
I will start off by saying that I did not experience any issues with the toilets as mentioned in some reviews. The place was very neat and tidy, a very comfortable space to chill in. Food-wise, I really enjoyed the calamari, I think it was one of the best I have had, crunchy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside. The meat platter was huge, had a good variety of meat, but some of the souvlaki was a bit over, so a bit tough. Overall, it was a good quiet environment that is perfect for a small gathering.
The most terrible service I've experienced for a LONG time, no smile, no manners, no anything and then expected a tip on the card machine every payment! A tip for what? Terrible miserable service, the British girl needs to go immediately, terrible manners and she just grunts, so unwelcoming! The cost for food is disgraceful, it's a pub not a restaurant !! You may as well drive 5 mins away and pay restaurant prices at great restaurants and get great service and food? I mean seriously the tiniest basket of hot chips and I mean tiny (10 overcooked frazzled oiled chips) - $10, I think it used to be $14 too. The ambience is dyer and the service is shocking. Please avoid, much better restaurants and pubs in the area. The menu hasn't changed at all in 4 years +.... I will never return! If you are hungry, please don't visit this place, It's over priced and very very small portions.
