Poetica recently hosted our wedding with 75 guests and I honestly can’t fault a single thing. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The food was fantastic, every single dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how delicious everything was, from the starters right through to dessert. It’s rare to find a venue that can serve such high-quality meals to a large group without missing a beat, but they absolutely nailed it. The drinks and service were equally impressive. The bar was well-stocked, the cocktails were spot-on, and the staff made sure everyone had a drink in hand and a smile on their face. The entire team was incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to detail really made the day feel effortless. It truly exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend for any special occasion! We had a lovely meal at Poetica. The food was excellent overall, with bold flavours that still felt balanced and thoughtful. The fish of the day, smoked John Dory, was easily the highlight of the night. The flat iron steak was tender, cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri alongside it complemented the meat well without overpowering it. The raw tuna crudo was a pleasant surprise. Usually tuna is served quite thin, but here it was chunky, which added a really satisfying texture and mouthfeel. The dill and cucumber sauce lifted the dish and enhanced the tuna’s freshness. Service was attentive without feeling overbearing. A special shoutout to Sean, the sommelier, who was extremely knowledgeable and patient with his wine recommendations. It genuinely elevated the experience. The only reason this is a four rather than a five is the cocktail potatoes side dish, which felt a little average compared to how strong the rest of the dishes were. That said, we would definitely be back and would happily recommend Poetica.

Wonderful valentines dinner experience in Poetica! Paid 140pp and was greeted with the nicest staff. Food wise it was good, especially loved the dessert, but the steak was just meh, nothing amazing tbvh. Place was clean and decor was simple but still had an expensive touch to it. Loved the open kitchen concept as well.

I’ve visited many restaurants around Sydney, but I can confidently say this place is truly underrated. To start, the tuna and grilled bean dish among the entrées had an outstanding balance of flavors — it was so good that I would happily come back just for that dish alone. The pork, steak, and fish dishes were also excellent. You can really tell that the chef on the grill section is highly skilled, as everything was cooked perfectly, remaining juicy with an impeccable cuisson. To finish, the desserts were well balanced and not overly heavy, making them the perfect way to end the meal.

What a fabulous evening! We celebrated our son’s 19th birthday at Poetica last night and I am sure this restaurant is going on our Favourites List! The most divine food and steak and the service was impeccable. A very highly recommended 5 stars ✨
