The location is great, being conveniently situated in The Star Sydney. Overall, the food was quite average, although the pricing is reasonable. I really enjoyed the tuna sashimi salad, which was fresh and well-balanced in flavour. The truffle fried rice was also quite good. However, some dishes like the duck salad were a bit disappointing. The duck had good flavour but was not tender, and the salad was just okay. The service was mixed, one younger staff member was very attentive and friendly, which we appreciated, but another older female staff member was not very welcoming, which affected the overall experience. In my view, this place is fine for a quick meal like fried rice or simple noodle dishes, but it doesn’t quite reach the standard of a restaurant you’d choose for a more special or high-quality dining experience.
Great dining experience at Rumble Pyrmont. The Massaman Curry with Lamb Shank was the highlight—super tender and full of flavour. Also loved the fresh Tuna Tartare and Thai Beef Salad. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
The food was average for a Thai fusion restaurant, however overpriced. Had very tourist trap vibes because of poor customer service (we waited ten minutes to be seated even though the restaurant was almost empty), $35-40 for a main, menus were frayed and poorly managed. We ordered the pork belly which was not bad. We also ordered a glass of wine for $15 which ended being a half pour. Not sure how this is acceptable. Giving them a three star rating is being generous on my part after considering one of the many waiters still carried professionalism and was courteous to us. 👍 The other staff lacked attentiveness
This Thai restaurant at The Star honestly impressed me. It’s the first Thai spot I’ve had where the food isn’t overly salty — everything is super balanced, flavourful, and made to a really high standard. If you’re visiting The Star or around Pyrmont, this is absolutely a must-visit. Their Green Thai Curry and XO Fried Rice are the stars of the menu — rich, fragrant, and so delicious without being heavy. I also tried the Tuna Saku (fresh tuna sashimi) and it was surprisingly tender, juicy, and refreshing even though tuna usually isn’t my thing. For dessert, we had the Dark Chocolate Tart — not my usual pick, but paired with ice cream it becomes a nice finish. This place is honestly underrated. Authentic flavours, balanced seasoning, great ingredients — and perfect for people who don’t like salty food (me included). Highly recommend checking it out when you’re at The Star.
Had a great dinner at Rumble! The crispy prawn satay was definitely the standout—perfectly crispy with an incredibly delicious satay sauce. The Massaman lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with rich flavour, while the seafood tom yum fried rice was loaded with generous portions of prawns, scallops and mussels. The chicken adobo was also a pleasant surprise with its delicious balance of tangy, sweet and savoury flavours. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made for a great night out. The only dish that wasn’t my favourite was the vegetarian spring rolls, as they were a little too oily for my taste. Overall, I’d happily come back to try more dishes!
