Wow! What an incredible dinning experience at Sinclairs. The young staff are tremendous, very friendly and a great asset for the establishment. The deliciously cooked meal by the chef started with a huge chunk of Sonoma sourdough with Katoomba honey and wagyu butter, followed by pecorino pepato gnocchi, that was filled with lemdell mushrooms and arrabbiata. This was topped off with a 500grm pork cotoletta with kombu and butter emulsion with gremolata. Along with a side of thick Wilberforce hand cut chips and tomatoe chutney with Horsley Park carrots cooked in fermented Chile and honey. This, in the delightful setting overlooking the Nepean river. Definitely have to go back for coffee and dessert which we couldn't fit in.

Did the Chefs Table for my mothers 90th. From the first communications they were super accommodating, noting down their not-too-out-there likes and dislikes, the menu in hindsight was really well tailored to a more laid back, wholesome selection. (this was much appreciated by me) I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but seriously Scott (head chef at the restaurant) was marvellous, he was engaging, thoughtful and interested. He kept us entertained for a good 2 hours, with stories, anecdotes, his past, family, running a restaurant, while asking us to share similar stories. All the while he was preparing food, bantering with staff, telling us about the ingredients, where they were from, cooking methods, and putting it all together in front of us. It was literally like being at his house in his kitchen. (I guess that is true in a way). My parents were blown away by it, and talked about it for weeks after. It is a wonderful experience to try. The food was seriously good, who knew simple ingredients like tomatoes could be elevated to such heights. What an education into restaurant life by someone who clearly loves what they do.

Spectacular, picturesque mountain views. Impeccable and beautifully cooked dishes! Professional and friendly customer service. One of the best medium rare steaks I’ve had. Will dine here again!

This is our special place in Penrith for a real culinary treat on special occasions. Went here for Valentine’s Day and food was impeccable and service is the same level. When you want to treat your other half to a special meal, this is where to go.

I was really excited to celebrate my mum’s birthday here. After reading the menu and reviews, I had very high expectations for what sounded like a thoughtful, local, and experimental dining experience. We ordered the set menu and started with the sourdough and wagyu butter. We were expecting the crumpet and scallop next, but instead received the steak tartare. I asked the wait staff about this, mainly because I was concerned we may have been given the wrong dish, and was simply told, “that’s the steak tartare.” The crumpets arrived afterwards, though our plates from the previous course hadn’t been cleared or replaced. We then received the sausage course, and overall the progression of the menu felt quite disjointed and out of sequence. When the mains arrived, they were unfortunately only lukewarm, and there wasn’t much explanation around which sauces accompanied each dish. The prawns that were meant to accompany an earlier course were also served alongside the mains. The only explanation we were given was that the grill was overloaded and the team was “ill equipped.” Having worked in hospitality myself, I completely understand that difficult services and unexpected challenges happen. I think what impacted the experience most was the lack of communication throughout the evening. If we had simply been told that the kitchen was running behind and that dishes would be served as they became ready, we would have been much more understanding and likely enjoyed the night far more. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the food itself was genuinely delicious, and the flavour combinations were excellent. This experience really highlighted how much service and communication contribute to a memorable dining experience, especially for a special occasion.
