I had such an amazing experience trying the Egyptian food here! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. We had kebda, mixed mahshi, mooza, kebab, kofta, tarb, and chicken, plus okra tagine with rice, koshari, and kofta with salad and dip every single dish was cooked perfectly and tasted homemade. The flavors were rich, the portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and hot. The mahshi was so comforting, the kofta were juicy, and the okra tagine had the perfect texture. You can really tell the food is made with love and care. Another lovely thing they have a prayer room for anyone who wants to pray. It’s clean, tidy, and well ventilated, which I really appreciated. The owner was kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely come back again highly recommend this place if you love real Egyptian food! 🇪🇬❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 We had lunch today at Taste of Egypt in Bankstown, and honestly, it felt like flying to Egypt, enjoying authentic home-style food, and coming straight back to Sydney. Every single dish was perfect – the meat and chicken were so tender and full of flavor, the mahshi (stuffed vegetables) tasted exactly like how you’d get it in Egypt, and the molokheya was simply spot on – rich, silky, and comforting. This is hands down the best Egyptian food I’ve had in Australia. The flavors were authentic, portions were generous, and the whole experience was like eating at a family table in Cairo. Our family absolutely loved it – we all left with full hearts and full stomachs. And the service was 10/10 – warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. If you’re craving real Egyptian cuisine, this is the place to go. Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be back again and again.

I had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience at Taste of Egypt. I usually don’t write negative reviews, but what happened today truly deserves to be shared. From the moment we walked in, there was a strange smell inside the restaurant — not something you’d expect from a place that serves food. The overall atmosphere felt unclean and not well-maintained. However, the worst part was the behavior of the man who served us. He seemed to be Lebanese, and his attitude was extremely unprofessional and aggressive. When we asked simple questions about the menu or expressed our preferences, he responded in a loud, disrespectful tone, as if he was doing us a favor by even speaking to us. It felt like we were being shouted at instead of served — and we were paying customers, not getting anything for free. The way he treated us was unacceptable. A restaurant should offer hospitality, respect, and basic courtesy — none of which were present during our visit. The entire experience left us uncomfortable, disappointed, and honestly, a little angry. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are many better places in Bankstown where you’ll be treated with respect and enjoy a clean environment and good food. This was not one of them.

Disappointing Experience 😞 I recently visited Taste of Egypt in Bankstown, hoping to introduce a friend to the delights of Egyptian cuisine and culture. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. From the moment we were seated, the service was subpar. The waiter was not only inattentive but also quite rude. At one point, he began throwing the dishes onto our table, which was both alarming and unprofessional. To make matters worse, he started clearing our plates before we had even finished eating. Despite our protests, he insisted that we were done and took the food away. This experience was a stark contrast to my previous visit, where the service and food were excellent. It was particularly disappointing as I had brought a friend along to showcase the rich flavors and hospitality of Egyptian culture. Instead, we left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their service standards. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others.

Ate at this place today. I had the displeasure of a poorly prepared meal. The toasted sandwich was soggy and lacked everything. A sandwich that would barely feed a small child. It lacked flavour and filling. The tomato in the salad was prepared earlier in the day and the meat was warm and not like something that you would wait 45 minutes for. Definitely the poorest dining experience in 30 years. The sandwich fell apart in the first bite. I had more food in my hands than in my mouth. I wish I took a photo for the reader to believe it. I would not take my family or friends for that matter ever to this place. This Egyptian restaurant is not representative of the amazing Egyptian food out there. I felt that I needed to write this review to warn others of the experience I had.
