Wow delicious. Was not expecting the food to be so delicious. Everything was delicious I think the least exciting thing were the chips haha! Actually the octopus was a bit rough and leathery. Don’t recommend that dish. Deserts were delicious. 10/10 was surprised with how good everything way definitely recommend.
We visited The Butler in Potts Point on 12/07/26. I have visited prior, and it had been a while so I had wanted to check out the menu again! All in all, it was a very pleasant experience with a lovely view of the city skyline. We enjoyed our lunch here and appreciate the attentive staff. This is what we ordered: To Start - A.P Sourdough with koji seaweed butter $4pp - Yellowfin tuna ceviche with coconut, sumac, curry leaf & salmon roe $27 ✨ - Confit Duck Flautas with salsa negra, sesame & xnipec $34 (3pc) ✨ - Empanadas with slow cooked Westholme Wagyu brisket, mozzarella & adobo jus $32 (3pc) Tostadas - Ōra King salmon with avocado, spicy peanut oil, cucumber $14ea - Crispy calamari with chile arbol, lime & mayo $11ea Drinks - Freely Yours (Barnes & Brown Lady Juniper, Lemongrass, Raspberry, Citrus, Foam) $16 - Please & No Thank You (Barnes & Brown Lady Juniper, Lychee, Grapefruit, Vanilla, Fizz) $16 - Ruby All Fair (Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Bandwagon 0.0%, Hibiscus Tea, Pomegranate) $16 ✨ = Would recommend 💰 = $74.67pp (including non-alcoholic drinks) The highlight of the starters was the confit duck flautas, which I felt had a delicious combination of the crunchy exterior and soft meat on the inside. However, the meat was just barely warm and I felt it could have benefited from being fresher and hotter. The tostadas I felt were slightly too salty for my liking - there was something particularly on the ora king salmon tostada which I still cannot discern that made it particularly salty. I felt they were too reliant on the sauces and less on natural spices or seasoning. I’d love to return again to try out other mains on the menu. Drinks were all satisfying, I particularly liked the ‘Please & No Thank You’ and ‘Ruby All Fair’, as a fan of lychee and pomegranate. In Winter the outdoor seating does get a little cold on a windy day so dress warm if coming during the chillier months!
Had such a wonderful experience at Butler! Every dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The sourdough bread was the perfect start, the green rice and cauliflower were full of flavour, the octopus was cooked perfectly, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the panna cotta it was silky, creamy, and easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time and the green rice perfect balance of flavours. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Butler to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
Nice city view. Lamb and cuttlefish very salty, best to eat with tortilla. I wouldn’t think it’s fantastic. I like the empanadas and cauliflower and buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes.
The venue itself is nice, though not the best I’ve been to. The terrace view is definitely a highlight great city views at night, and you can see Sydney Tower, which made it a pleasant spot for dinner. I went with my Indonesian friends, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We ordered the Enhanced Banquet. There were four of us, and at $98 per person, I expected each of us to receive an individual banquet. Instead, the food quantity that came to the table felt more like it was for one person, shared among four. That part was quite disappointing, especially for the price. The food itself was good, but not exceptional. I’ve had better dishes across different cuisines, so nothing really stood out as memorable. Overall, it was an okay experience. Decent food, great view, but the value for money didn’t quite match expectations. Worth visiting for the view and ambience, but don’t go in with very high expectations, especially considering the price. ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
